Seokjin shot up in the chair, waking up from his sleep. He yawned and rubbed his eyes of sleep. He stretched out his back, groaning softly and silently regretting not going home the previous night. He had fallen asleep at the police station while reading over police files about Red to help Yangyang with their mission. The door to the office opened and in came Yangyang with two coffee cups in hand.
"Oh, morning," they said with a smile. "I brought coffee from the cafe across the street. Here." They placed one of the coffee cups down in front of Seokjin and earned a tired 'thank you' in return. "Sorry to have you up all night with me looking at Red's files. And thank you anyway. At least we got sorted through their crime files."
Seokjin sipped on the piping hot coffee, letting out a satisfied sigh as it warmed up his body. "No, it's okay. It's a nice change of pace from what I'm doing. That is not going anywhere and at least doing this with you, I can at least see some kind of progress."
He gestured to the pile of folders next to them. They had already sorted through them all and organized them by crime. The largest pile was Red's bank heists which they often seemed to do. It was even their very first crime and origin of their name. They don't do it anymore, but in the beginning of their crime days, they used to mark their crime scenes with a hidden spray painted letter 'X'. As a code name, the police and the news began calling them the 'Red X Gang' and ultimately it was shortened to just 'Red' when they themselves tagged one of their crimes with the tagline 'We Are Red'.
Yangyang hummed softly and sipped on their coffee. "I guess so. It probably beats being stuck at Hyosang's agency, too, huh? I actually hired someone who left his agency and they said he hasn't exactly been the nicest."
"Yeah. He's been such an ass lately. Might be because of his new assistant."
"His new assistant is turning him into an asshole?"
"She just picks up a lot of his slack at the agency when he's on jobs and when he gets back, he thinks it's okay to be lazy or just boss everyone around."
"That checks out. I always thought he was lazy since the two of you became a hero team. With your shields and how you always have his back, he only has to worry about his offense and never pays attention around him when he fights."
Seokjin chuckled. "Are you saying he's nothing without me?"
Yangyang shrugged. "It's been that way since you were in SAOH, hasn't it? You were the only reason why he kept his grades up. Other than his wife, you were the only one forcing him to study."
"Careful. You're stroking my ego. I might turn cocky on you."
"It's just an observation of the truth, hyung."
They both sipped on their coffees and shuffled through the papers again. Seokjin scanned the pile of papers in front of them they hadn't fully sorted through yet which were all police reports of all the attacks they had done. Including the police report about the former hero they tortured, they didn't concentrate much on petty crime. Most of them were high profile that gained the attention of the heroes and, like the case of the hero they bullied into madness, the government.
Seokjin paused mid-drink in thought. "Weird. Have you noticed the pattern of their crimes? They raid and destroy banks but don't actually steal anything save for a few times, especially in the beginning. They attack hero agencies but don't kill the hero or their assistants. They attack health clinics but only the one's heroes frequent."
