Time was running down and I was still looking over this body that was lying in front of me on the table. Behind me, there was bickering between a couple of groups of people as they looked over evidence folders. I and the guy who had helped me previously were looking over the possible choices of the murder weapons. It was obviously a poison but there were four types. Oxalic acid, Ethylene Oxide, Nitric Acid and Sulfuric Acid. Each of these could be digested and cause drastic effects on the body, though we had not gained enough information for us to know which one. Clearly, there was nobody really of use in the room either who would be able to help us.

I looked back over the folder which contained the general diagnosis of those who ingested each of these poisons. The guy was looking through one of the other folders he had found. I looked at the timer still counting down slowly and I felt panic go through me. We could always guess the answer but there was a one in four chance we would get it wrong. There had to be a detail I was missing. I walked back over to the body and looked over it again. She was clearly not that old of a corpse which was disturbing in all honesty. I moved over to a drawer and pulled out a pair of gloves from there, deciding to do a full body scan. Anything to help us gather an idea of why...how...

Something caught my eye. I ran my hand over the mouth area. Frowning I moved to find a wipe, after looking I located one in the drawer. I had attracted quite a bit of attention from the groups and they moved over to watch me. I wiped over the mouth and revealed horrific scarring. I was not sure how I had not noticed this before but it was rather drastic. I quickly rushed to the folder, looking over the acids. Only one of these causes burns of this nature. Dark scars on the skin. Oxalic acid. I laughed slightly as I looked around. I must have looked crazy.

"Oxalic acid."

Everyone looked between each other and back to me and I gathered they would want more reasoning from me. I sighed though understood that there was someone among us willing to cause the mass death of us all. I motioned for everyone to come to get a closer look while I moved to show the folder which had a direct description of what happens when this acid is ingested. People slowly began pulling their phones out to input the answer but our moment was interrupted slightly.

"Are you sure? Just....for definite?Because we don't want to die due to a small slip-up. Are we sure those burns aren't from something else? Maybe the poison was injected or inhaled? Are you sure this is right?"

The man who was talking had not spoken up for the whole game. Why now? Was he trying to throw us off or was he just cautious?  I stared at him blankly for a moment. I was very sure of my answer, though he was making me question everything. But thinking about it, the other acids had different symptoms. Hard to see but they could be distinguished was the point there. I looked back at the clock and realised we had five minutes left of this round.

"This is definitely the answer...please trust me, if you do you will win this round."

Silence hit the room and I pulled out my phone and inputted the answer. One by one everyone joined me. There was reluctance, but it seemed everyone had made their decision. I did not know if everyone had followed me in their decision or went with their own idea, but I just hoped I was right. I just hoped this would end soon and I could be a step closer to leaving this place. Leaving The Borderlands. Getting back to Chishiya. I needed that. Wanted it.

TWO MINUTES REMAINING. PLEASE ENTER YOUR MORTUARY CABINET AND WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE ROUND.

All of us returned to the cabinets, climbing inside. The darkness as we waited to see if we survived. The horror of having to wait. All I could think about was him. Where he was. If he was still alive. If I would ever see him again. I feared the worst, but I was dedicated to pushing through. Dedicated to being alive for him. The silence was broken by screaming. Someone had got the wrong answer, but it was not me. I had done it, I had saved everyone and got us the right answer. Clearly, though, someone did not trust me or didn't put an answer in on time. As the cabinets opened again, I was the first to get myself out. This was the last round. This round was our ticket out of there. Everyone else emerged and I realised the guy who questioned me was no more. His cautiousness killed him.
