They parked the HMS Pogue at the Coast Guard HQ, which was, disappointingly, just a makeshift tent set up on a crowded dock. People were everywhere—arguing, begging for help, or just yelling about everything under the sun. It was chaos, and the scene was far from the official-looking headquarters the Pogues had expected.

Gracie, John B, and JJ exchanged skeptical glances as they wove their way through the crowd, pushing through to get closer to the tent. JJ muttered under his breath, "This is the Coast Guard HQ? We're basically in a Costco on Black Friday."

"Oh, yeah. Definitely the model of organisation here," Gracie added, dodging a man who was practically waving his arm in her face. "So much for finding help."

They finally reached the tent, where a woman was leaning over the counter, yelling at a very stressed-looking Coast Guard worker. "He's diabetic! He needs help!" she screeched, her voice cutting through the din.

The worker, barely holding it together, raised his hands defensively. "Ma'am, I can't help your diabetic dog! I'm sorry!"

John B slipped in beside the man, JJ and Gracie standing shoulder to shoulder with him as they tried to get the worker's attention. "Uh, excuse me, we found a boat—" John B began, attempting to sound official over the racket.

"In the marsh—" Gracie added, raising her voice and pointing outside like it would help.

JJ, rolling his eyes, gave a heavy sigh. "Excuse me, you're gonna wanna hear this—" he interjected loudly, but the worker didn't even blink before cutting him off.

"Hey!" the man snapped, throwing a hand in JJ's face. "Calm down!" With that, he turned back to the woman and her diabetic dog, clearly done with the three of them.

John B, Gracie, and JJ shared a look, each of them with the same resigned, 'well, we tried' expression. They made their way back through the crowd, dodging elbows and frustrated Coast Guard staff until they reached the boat.
