y/n POV.I'm almost certain they design these rooms on purpose to make whomever they bring in here feel uncomfortable. innocent or guilty.
Grey walls, a single table, three black chairs and absolutely nothing else in my line of sight. Jenna and I are seated next to each other, she has her hand around the back of my chair, tracing her fingers in between my shoulder blades. We've been held in here for 10 minutes and detective Hart still has yet to show his face, I only agreed to come in here to answer a few questions not to feel like I was the one who committed the crime.Footsteps of a man wearing some expensive black shoes clicked in the distance. I counted 23 until he was stood in front of the table we were sat. Detective Hart smelt like cheap cologne and cigarettes, yet sported expensive shoes. Make that make sense.
Both Jenna and I stood to shake his hand before we all sat in unison. He opened his laptop, placing it nearer to the wall so we could all see it.
"Y/n and.." he looks at Jenna
"Jenna" she smiles
"Jenna. Thank you for coming here. Let's just get right into it. Oh, wait no. Hold on." Detective Hart stood from his seat and exited the room, only to return just as quick with a jug of ice water and cups.
"where are my manners? can I offer you some water?" he asks, placing everything on the table.
"i'd actually really like that, thank you." He pours me a glass and Jenna politely declines.
"So, as I was saying. Let's get right into it. A few days ago, I received a bunch of emails containing video evidence of a kidnapping, involving you." The scrawny blonde man informed me as if I wasn't the one living it.
He presses play on the video only to stop it once Dylan came into this frame. Lifting his cigarette ridden fingers he points to the screen.
"Who is this man?" he asks of me."That's Dylan Taylor sir."
"What connection do you have with him and why do you think he did this to you?"
"To save you the long story. He's a psycho who I once called my best friend. I was in a bad place, he supplied me with drugs, raped me. I defended myself by physically assaulting him and he vowed to ruin my life"
blah. blah fucking blah i'm so tired of going back on history. just get me to my new life.
I could feel Jenna still calmly rubbing circles over the top of my back as I spoke.
"I will disregard the fact that you physically assaulted him. That being a crime on its own, however, it was in self defense. After this video cut off, what do you remember?"
Taking a sip from the water sat in front of me, wiping the excess from around my lips with the back of my hand I continued.
"uh.. um, I remember being dragged out to a car and ending up at an abandoned warehouse somewhere out of town. tied up and stabbed. If it wasn't for Jenna and her mom, I wouldn't be alive. Look do I really have to explain all of this to you? I can just show you my wounds."He turns his attention to the gift sat next to me.
"Jenna, what do you remember from the incident?""I remember I was watching the live stream and when I saw y/n was in trouble I knew I had to help. Using my rather savvy detective skills, if I do say so myself." with her free hand she flicked her hair behind her shoulders as if it say.. yes I am that impressive. "I was able to figure out, where Dylan and Leigh were. I took my security and one of your officers and attempted to take them on."
"Both of you realize you'll have to give me details to build a case here.. I need evidence to put whoever was doing this behind bars."
"Dylan Taylor, Leigh Davidson, Colin Spears and Sasha Harris were all involved. Dylan bought out the company I worked for, bribed my then manager to help him bring me down. Recruited Sasha for information and Colin was Leigh's other right hand man"
