'Cause we lost track of time again
Laughing with my feet in your lap
Like you were my closest friend

She was enchanting.

The way her features relaxed reading her favorite book.

The way her long black hair, hung down past her shoulder blades.

She was gorgeous.

Her glasses set on her nose bridge, suited her frame perfectly. She wears minimal makeup, not very noticing.

She was everything I wanted and more...

But she's the pretty girl, who everyone adores.

And I am someone, who barely talks to anyone.

She is loved by everyone however I...

She doesn't even know me. But I promise you, Y/n. One day, you'll be mine.

I'll be everything that can give you the reason to choose only me.

I'll protect you, love you, care you, cherish you. Just wait for me, doll.

"Hello! Maria."

"'mornin' Ma'am. Would you like to have plum cake, for breakfast?" Maria shared the smile with Y/n, making her smile as well, chopping the strawberries.

Resting her hands on the kitchen slab.
She simply shrugged her shoulders, laughing. "Is it only necessary to always have something to need? I can also come over to ask about you." Maria bowed to her.

"Thank you for saying that, Mrs. Itoshi." Y/n smile dropped eventually, looking down at her feet. Maria frowned seeing Y/n's long face. "Yes, ma'am?" Slowly taking her gaze to the elderly woman, she mustered, biting her bottom lip, "Please, don't call me Mrs. Itoshi. Rin and I aren't... actually married." She mumbled, averting her gaze away to the floor.

"Oh? I thought the maids were just spreading rumours." Maria put the knife down, realizing the fact. "Then why do, sir, call you by his last name?" Y/n sighed, giving a low chuckle, "It's a very long story." She paused, wandering her eyes around the kitchen walls, "That I definitely don't want to repeat. It only brings grief." Her voice dropped, muttering incoherently.

She groaned, turning her back to Maria, pulling herself up, to sit on the slab, swinging her legs. Maria wasn't the type of a nosy person, who wanted to know every thing about everyone. She's likely to keep things to herself and never interfere in other's businesses.

"You know, I really use to like him." Y/n spoke, zoning at the wall in front of her. Her heart clenched, with the words out of her mouth. "But when I think about everything he did...." Her eyes filled with tears of anger. "I can't help but hate him more than anything."

Maria hummed, walking towards the other end of the counter, picking up the saucepan, putting the strawberries on it.

"I know, I am not in the position of saying anything, but.." Y/n turned to see, Maria's back, who was busy stirring the strawberries. "... I've known Sir since he was a young lad. He was always quiet and reserved. Hardly tried to open up with anyone."

She turned to Y/n, with a soft smile, stepping next to her, to pick up the sugar cubes. "..His parents were too busy to ask about their kid. Competition, frustration, ignorance, loneliness, rejection, depression, worthlessness. There's nothing left, what Rin hasn't saw."
