When they return to their rooms, they start using Morse code to communicate through the wall. The following day, Angel goes to see the gym teacher to see if she can sign up for after-school strength training. And she can! Afterward, she steals money from her mother's purse and uses it to take Colt to the arcade, where she teaches him how to play Pac-Man. Then she takes him to the store to buy some candy, which he turns downs.
"Aww...I wanted to share my favorites with you!" Angel said with a disappointed face.
Colt feels bad for turning it down and he ends up taking one piece of candy, but only to find out that he ran outside and vomited afterward. "I'm sorry Angel," Colt said.
"I don't mind," Angel said.
Angel hugged Colt and he accepted the hug.
Still worried Colt asked Angel something important.
"Hey Angel, do you like me?" Colt asked
Angel replied, "Yes, yes I do."
"Would you still like me? If I wasn't a boy?" Colt asked
"Yes, I would! I don't care about your gender! I'd still like you either way!" Angel interjected. Colt was happy and he hugged Angel tightly.
They walked back to their building while Colt mentions he's moved around a lot, on the other hand, Angel says she wants to get out of this horrible town. When they start holding hands, they're interrupted by Angel's mom calling her over for dinner.
"I have to go," Angel said.
"See you tomorrow!" Colt replied.
The kids return to their apartments after wishing each other good night.
At his place, Colt finds Dave getting ready to go out again because he has no choice. Colt tries to comfort him with a gentle touch to his face which Dave appreciates but says: "Don't see the girl again."
Dave goes out and breaks into another car, hiding behind the backseat while waiting for the right moment to strike. The driver picks up a friend, who puts his bag in the back seat but doesn't notice Dave yet. Eventually, they stop by the gas station, and the driver gets out to buy some stuff. After turning on the radio, the friend turns around to grab his bag and finally sees Dave, who decides to go for it and attack the guy. The victim puts up a fight but Dave manages to kill him after some struggle, and the noises aren't heard thanks to the music. The car owner realizes the problem, however, when Dave gets in the driver's seat and starts the car to get away.
Seeing the road becomes difficult when the angry owner throws a smoothie at the front window, so Dave has trouble steering. The car ends up falling into a ditch and flipping over, getting its two passengers stuck under its weight. Since the car owner is coming closer and the cops will soon arrive as well, Dave grabs a bottle of acid that he kept in his bag and pours it all over his face to render his features unrecognizable.
