With the announcement of Kibō no Chikara ~Otona Precure 23~ and Mahou Tsukai Precure 2, the Precure Mashup Team Series is confirmed to be set in Alternate Timeline, wherein most Cures, if not all, move on and have their own set of friends (who turned out to be Precures, too) but of course they will meet their original teammates again, if there is time.
It was just like a "What-if".
Because of Alternate Timeline, there is a possibility where the storyline does not follow the time skip finale of the show (notable shows include the finale of Go Princess Precure up to Star Twinkle Precure).
The Precures' Group of Friends also alter (as evident in the cover photo).
Some Cures who started as a Duo in their respective seasons either end up becoming a trio or becoming a duo again, but this time you're with another Cure who isn't from the same season as you.
