Sirius Black's daughter - Athena Black (Book 1)

Three

The first years crossed the black lake with boats. Athena was in a boat with Ron and Harry. The castle looked magnificent. It felt like a dream come true. Athena started to get a little nervous about what house she will get sorted into.

They entered the castle greeted by a witch in green robes and a huge black hat.

"Before we start, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflpuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin." She said.

The doors to the great hall opened and this witch whom Athena assumed to be professor Mcgonagall as her mother described her as an elderly witch with a huge black hat.

There was a stool in front of the staff table with a raged hat on top. Athena assumed this to be the sorting hat. The hat sang a song to which Athena didn't pay attention to. She was busy naming the professor's her mother told her about. She spotted professor Flitwick, professor Sprout, professor Quirrill, madam Pomfry, Madam Hooch, professor Kettleburn and then her eyes landed on a professor with curtain like black hair, onyx eyes and black robes. She wondered who that would be.

The hall erupted in to claps which indicated that the song was over. Athena clapped her hands.

"When I call out your names, come forth. Susan Bones." Mcgonagall called.

A girl with brown hair went up and sat.

"Hufflpuff!" The hat yelled.

Cheers erupted from the Hufflpuff table.

"Athena Black"

Athena froze but calmed herself down and walked up to the stool. The was so quiet that only her footsteps could be heard.

"Ahh... A Black I see." The hat spoke."Hmmm... Let's see, really daring, and ambitious, and a thirst to prove yourself? Well I see that there is no need for you to prove yourself. But where to put you, Gryffindor or Slytherin?" After two or three minutes the hat yelled "Gryffindor!"

No cheers came from the Griffindor table and Athena wasn't expecting any either. She walked to the table and sat down. The names were being called. Harry, Ron and Hermione were sorted into Griffindor. The feast started. Athena wasn't eating  anything. Suddenly two red headed boys called her.

"Hey Black" they called.

Athena looked up in confusion.

"Do you want to join us? We are pranksters and we got into trouble with the professor's-" one said and the other continued  "-a lot of time. We know a prankster when we see one." The twins were grinning.

"Of course! Are you kidding me?" Athena replied." What are your names?"

"I'm Fred and he is George" one of the two said.

"Umm... Fred who is the professor next to professor Quirrill?" Athena asked.

"Oh, that is professor Snape, the potions master. But everyone knows that he wants Quirrill's job. He has been after his post for years. And he is also one of our favorite targets." Fred said grinning from ear to ear.

After the feast was over, Dumbledore gave his speech. Athena felt drowsy and sleepy. She wanted to to go up to her dormitory.

The prefect escorted them to their dormitories. Athena wasn't going to have a bad time after all. On her first day, she became friends with two pranksters at Hogwarts and seem to accept her. Athena didn't dare to raise her hopes for she knew she only had four friends. Ron, Harry, Fred and George. She went up to her dorm. She had a dorm with one bed. She was happy at the thought that she wasn't going to have to share anything. Her trunk was brought up. And so was her owls cage. She laid on her bed and fell asleep almost in an instant.
