5. Chosen
Snow POV
"What is it Jack?" I asked him. I didn't care about my problems anymore, this seemed so much worse.
"Uh, I have to go, but I'll be back," he said and took off. The wind carrying him away toward the North.
The Sun eventually set on the confusing day. I sat there, under the tree, waiting for Jack to return. I wasn't mad at him anymore. I'm happy he made me realize that he really is a friend, one who will listen and understand, unlike my other ones who will just yell at me for everything I do.
A full moon shined in the sky. It was beautiful. Surprisingly, the cold didn't bother me. I just sat up against the tree, staring at a pond in the distance. Everything seemed so nice. My bare feet didn't mind the cold either. My shoes and socks were within reach, but I didn't need them. I just sat there in a warm jacket.
My eyes started to close and I drifted off into a dream:
I woke up to the sound of an alarm clock. The sun's rays shone into my room. It was a regular day, I went to the bus, and had a normal day at school where no one would notice me. I was just that invisible person that no one bothered or even thought of. But, out of the corner of my eye, a black figure would always stand, with red eyes. It would stare at me from a far. When I looked away, trying to keep the creature out of sight, the whole school set on fire. The fumes were intoxicating. There was nothing I could do. Jack wasn't there. He wasn't there to put the fire out.
Jack POV
The moon told me to meet the other guardians at the North Pole, so I quickly picked up the winds and flew there as fast as possible.
All the other guardians were already there.
"You're late, mate," said Bunnymund. He was not excited about this either.
North looked up at the moon. He was in the globe room, well, we were all in the globe room. The moon was acting very strange. It then shined at the globe, just a tiny strip of light making its way around all the golden lights, which are the children who believe in us.
"What's happening North?" Asked Tooth. She was really worried. Why does everyone look so worried?
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Moon is choosing, hush now Jack," said North in his Russian accent.
'Choosing who? For what? North better start explaining.'
The moon's ray stopped at a blue light. Why isn't it yellow, like the rest? Then it pointed at a stand, it lifted up and a picture of me appeared. Everyone looked at me. Sandy just had this big question mark over his head?
Then the moon showed snowflakes, not falling but being drawn. North seemed to be getting all the information from this except for a tiny detail he can't quite figure out, it is so easy to read North's face. He was also worried. But why?
I looked at it, then it hit me. Snow. Then, the stand lit up in a yellow orange red mix. It engulfed the whole thing. It was fire. I quickly jumped back, not wanting to be burned.
I thought of Snow and immediately flew back to her. I flew over many places, and famous landmarks, but I didn't care. I arrived at her house, I looked into her window but she wasn't there, I tapped on the window and frosted the glass, but still no one.
I flew around the town. It took me about 5 minutes to find her because my second guess was that she was at the tree. There she was. Her eyes were closed and she was sleeping, I got closer to her, and out of nowhere she started to kick, really powerful kicking. She placed her hands over her head. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't just leave her there. The first that popped into my mind was to carry her to the North Pole.
I picked her up bridal style. She was pretty heavy, and we flew off.
