Toxic Love

May 16th, 1981

I was visiting Billy and Krys in California. we were out of school for the year, and no one knows why I saw cops at the high school like a lot of them. The school didn't say why, but high schoolers are stupid anyways but at least we get to be out early.

Me, Billy, and Krys were hanging out, and Krys keeps pushing me to ask Billy to hang out or, as she likes to call it,'ask him out' like no I like Billy but it would just be embarrassing

"He's playing basketball anyways,"
"Okay? Go ask him, "
"No."
"And why not?"
"Because, just no."
"Well, too bad,"

She pushes me over towards him, and he stops and looks at me

"Hi."
"Hi?"
"Um- I- Um- bye"
"Bye?"

I walk back over to Krys, and she yells at me

"What.was.that!"
"Well, I'm sorry I freaked out!"

She pushes me back over to him, and he stops again what he was doing, and he looks at me with the same confused look on his face

"Um-"
"Yes? Do you want something?"
"You want to- um I-"
"8 o'clock sharp at the diner"
"Yea, okay, that's fine,"

I walk back over to Krystal.

"See, that wasn't so bad."
"I hate you,"
"He just did it for you,"
"Fuck off"
"Me and Wesley are probably going to bet on what else he's going to do for you"

It's 6:30 and Krystal insisted she helps me get ready but I get ready before I go over there, and when I walk in she looks at me like I'm stupid.

"What?"
"Are you planning to lose your virginity tonight?"
"No, why?"
"Because ripped jeans and a leather jacket are gonna get you there."
"Krys"
"Yea?"
"You know I'm 13, right?"
"Yea, but you know that there are people who lose it young, take Billy, for example, he lost it to Tiffany."
"Well she was a bitch anyways"
"Yea, anyways we're getting off topic"

She hands me a hoodie and a pair of non ripped jeans

"Did you raid my closet?"
"No I stole them from Theo"
"Ohh"

I got to the bathroom and change and after I get changed I walk out and she let's out a sigh of relief

"Ouch"
"What? You're too young and innocent"
"You, my parents, and literally my whole family are vampires. How much more innocent can I get?"
"A lot more"
"Sureee, but I have tea for you."
"Oooh spill"
"So Steve, right, you know who Steve is?"
"Yes, kolton, I do know who Steve is you talk about how creepy his cousin Derek is"
"Yea cause he is"
"Anyways so Steve told me that he really likes Nancy right"
"Yes"
"But Nancy is my age and Steve is two years older than us like your really gonna date a 13 year old when your 15 yourself, it's fucked up"
"Sounds like it"
"It's gross"
"Did you tell him that?"
"Of course I did"

I'm clearly lying but she doesn't question cause I don't want to crush little Stevies dreams of actually being able to get a girlfriend.

It's 8:00 pm, and Krys and I are sitting in her car waiting for him to pull up, we see him pull up in the parking lot 20 seconds later and he gets out and leans against his car and I get out.

But me and him talked, we ate, and he took me home it was close to midnight when he dropped me off, and Krystal and Toni are waiting for me and Krys turns on the lights.

"You need something, sister, and friend of mine?"
"Where were you?"
"At Billys"
"Why were you there?"
"Cause I can Toni now shush"
"No, Toni's right. Why were you at Billys?"
"Why not? The diner closed, so we just went to his house his dad and Susan weren't home, and Max is at her dad's for the weekend."
"Why didn't he just drop you off at home?"
"You know what I'm tired"
"No, let me see your neck"

She sees nothing and then she just leaves me alone so I go back to the guest room me and Toni are staying in me and Toni swap night sleeping on the floor and it's my night to sleep on the floor, luckily it's my last night here now I can save me, myself and I from embarrassment, I get changed and I go to bed.
