Jesus Christ, Jesus was annoying! Every five seconds he would turn on his megaphone and start screaming. What the hell! He's worse than Coach!
Lucas has barely said a word to me since we got into groups, I have no idea what his problem is. He seems to think I shouldn't be here. I'll have to talk to him soon and find out what his problem is, but for now, I don't really care.
"Ok everyone!" Jesus shouts through his megaphone. "In a couple minutes we are going arrive at a clearing where we will set up camp."
I reach for my water bottle and almost scream. There is a large spider on the lid. I quickly throw it against a tree nearby."What are you doing?" Lucas asks.
"There was a spider on my water bottle." I reply.
I can see him laughing silently.
"What?" I demand. "It could have been poisonous!"
He walks over and picks something up off the ground, it's the spider. Now very dead, as I had whipped it against a tree.
Lucas looks at it and frowns. "This is a fishing spider or Thaumasia, it's very dangerous-"
"See!" I say triumphantly.
"You didn't let me finish my sentence." Lucas says. "As I was saying, it's very dangerous, if you are a tadpole." He starts to laugh again.
I scowl and walk towards the clearing where we will be sleeping. I see why not a lot of people talk to him, he's so annoying!

"Dinner time." Says Lexi, poking her head through the door of my tent.
"Thanks." I say hesitantly, I don't know Lexi very well and I'm not sure why she is talking to me.
"So, why are you here?" She asks.
That was quick.
"I want to help because people I know were on that plane. You?" I say.
"My husband, his name was- I mean is Elijah." She says.
Wow, she must look very young for her age to be married already.
"I'm sorry." I say.
"Well, most people here aren't here because they want to be, they are here because they have family or friends that were on their way to Brazil." Says Lexi.
"Oh, yea I guess so." I say my voice tinged with confusion.
"So you don't have to apologize to everyone." She says with a sad smile.
"Let's go to dinner." I reply, effectively ending the conversation.

Dinner was beef jerky, instant oatmeal, and the oh-so-delicious vitamin pills. Anything with water in it like fruit, vegetables, and fresh/cooked meat will rot very quickly so every meal is accompanied with vitamins so we don't get sick. I'm going to have to talk to Jesus because my body needs way more calories than this. I'm reading a book when Lucas walk into my tent."What the hell do you want?" I ask, still angry about the spider incident.
"Wow, that's rude." He replies.
"I'm sorry if I don't feel the need to be nice to some random person who I barely know." I shoot back.
"Harsh."
"Like I said before, what do you want, Lucas?" I say.
"I want to know why you are here." He says.
"I already told you, now go away." I know I'm being mean, but whatever.
"You told me that your family was on that plane, fine. But why did you decide to come here? You're an athlete right? Shouldn't you be training or something?" He asks.
"Because some things are more important than sports." I say. "And being an athlete gives me an advantage because I am strong and have a lot of stamina. What about you?
"I'm here because I've been to Brazil before to train for what I do, and I know how to survive and track things here. I'm probably the only person here that knows anything other than Jesus." He replies.
"Fine, now go away." I say again.
"Have a nice night." He says and leaves my tent.
