Back in town || Waves

Mabel Heyward had returned to Outer Banks one late summer evening, as she drove to her house watching the sunset with the sound of the waves against the rocks. She slowly got out of the car, walking back into her house as she saw her father laying on the couch half asleep. "MABEL!", her dad yelled as he woke up and ran to hug her. Her mother followed with a similar reaction smothering her in hugs.

Mabel's POV

I walked inside my old house greeted by my dad and mother drowning me in questions and hugs. I finally asked the question I was dying to ask "Where's pope?" I wondered where my brother was as he was my best friend. My mother said "He is with his friends but you'll go see him tomorrow you should rest tonight." So I did. I went into my old room and unpacked everything slowly as I had one too many suitcases. I had only unpacked half my bags but I was too tired from driving, the plane, and some unpacking so I laid on my bed as I drifted asleep. _______________________________________________________________

The next morning I woke up early and remembered how much I had missed the waves and surfing so I changed into some shorts and a bikini. I walked out of the house, surfboard in my hand, while my parents were still asleep so I left them a note telling them I was surfing. I arrived at the beach as the warm sun shined on my shoulders I ran into the water smiling. The cold waves hit me gently as I climbed onto my board. I stayed in the water for hours until I saw a familiar figure that looked like..."POPE!". "MABEL!" I ran to him as he had the widest smile ever. "You NEED to catch me up!" I said as his blonde friend came running from behind saying "pope I couldn't find the wa- woah." "JJ." Pope said with a condescending glare "this is my sister Mabel, she just came back and she is VERY off limits." "Well nice to meet you Mabel, but since she just came why don't we head back to the chateau" JJ suggested still staring at me. "The what? Didn't know y'all spoke in code" I said confused by what that meant while looking at pope. "The chateau is our friends house. C'mon we'll show you" Pope said happily as he turned around. His friend followed with me closely behind. ________________________________________________________________

We quickly ended up at a fish shack on the marsh. "This is it, the chateau." JJ said with a smile. I walked in after Pope but before the blonde boy. "Hey babe!" A brunette girl said smiling. "Uhh who's this?" She said pointing to me with a confused stare. "Popes sister. The one he won't shut up about!" JJ said as he chuckled slightly. I smiled and said "my names Mabel and you are?" "Kiara, but you can call me kie" she said with a bright smile as I turned to pope "so...how come you've never told me about her! I finally met the lucky girl." I said laughing. Pope started blushing and then a tall boy came out of a room. "Hey pope. Who's this? Wait is this the famous Mabel Heyward?" He said with a small smile. "I see I have quite a reputation here?" I said raising an eyebrow and giggling while looking back at pope. "My name is John b, owner of the chateau" he said heading towards the sofa. We all sat down on an old couch as John B turned on a movie. We started watching but I quickly got a bit cold as my hair was salty and still damp. "Can I take a shower here? It'll take quite some time to get home." I asked shyly. "Yeah, of course! You can stay here tonight if you'd like, all pogues are welcome here at all times." The brunette said with a smile. I smiled back and went to the shower. I didn't take too long not wanting to overstep on my first day back. I wrapped the towel around my body as I took another towel to dry my hair as I began thinking of the blonde boy that I met first. His smile lit up the room and he seemed quite funny and kind, but then again I just met him. I went into what I assumed was popes room at the chateau as it had all his things as I stole a new shirt and put my shorts on again.

I hope y'all liked this first part, I've never done this before so it's new for me but I think it's ok? I don't really know but the next part will be up today or tomorrow :)
