Applepaw was in awe at all the different scents, sounds, and sights as he walked into the huge gathering hollow, Spikepaw walking beside him.
He entered the gathering and there seemed to be no tension between any of the clans. A few RiverClan warriors cast glares at a few ThunderClan warriors though none of the rival clan warriors looked back.

He gazed up excitedly at the four large oaks that towered over the many clans, the round, silver moon was bright in the sky as every cats pelt was tinted silver.
Rainwhisker grumbled from behind him as Birchstar flicked her pale tail, telling her clan to walk down the slightly steep slope down to the gathering.

"Of course we're late." The snow-white tom sniffed, "we're always be late."

Applepaw leaned into Spikepaw for support as he slid down the slope, his paws scrambling to find a paw hold, and when he made it to the bottom, Spikepaw nudged him with his shoulder. Purring as he teased him about his graceful entrance.
Applepaw rolled his eyes, fur fluffing out in embarrassment. "Whatever you fish-face." He huffed, small tail twitching.

Suddenly a scarred, creamy-brown queen approached Birchstar. Her bright, amber-pink eyes were narrowed in an oddly questionable look though she purred a kind greeting to the RiverClan leader. Her slim tail up and swaying carefully behind her.
"Who's that?" He whispered to Spikepaw, his brother shrugged. Not bothering to look over at him and blinking at the she-cat with the same curiosity.
Rainwhisker padded over, now standing at his side. His long tail flicking behind him though it was low to the ground.
"That's Dawnstar." Rainwhisker meowed, a hint of growl in his voice. "ShadowClan's leader."

Applepaw slowly nodded, 'Dawnstar...' he scanned her so he would remember what she looked like in case of a battle. He decided to note her round -shredded- ears, sharp face, and bright eyes.
Suddenly a huge, broad-shouldered brown tabby walked over, his yellow eyes where narrowed in an unfriendly glare as his long black lashing behind him.
"Rainwhisker, who's-"
Rainwhisker cut him off with an answer. "Snaketail. ShadowClan's deputy."

Birchstar nodded to the gathered cats, flicking her tail as RiverClan dispersed, breaking off into smaller groups and walking off to talk to other cats. Spikepaw was one of those few cats who walked off.
Applepaw decided to also note some key-features about the ShadowClan deputy. For one, his distinctive black tail would be a start, that was the first thing he noticed anyways. Then it would be Snaketail's underbite and tufted ears- maybe his broad-shoulder too? He looked strong enough to crush a cat just by putting a paw on them.

'And to think he used to be a helpless kit!' he thought, 'maybe he was just born a warrior?'

"Come on, you can go and sit with the other apprentices. Meet some of the others." Rainwhisker shook his fur out as he padded off and past Snaketail, giving the ShadowClan warrior a curt nod before trotting off. Applepaw hurried after his mentor, Snaketail looked down at him, Applepaw gulped nervously as he looked up at the intimidating warrior.
The dark brown tom's eyes narrowed even more, somehow, and he turned away to join in conversation with his leader and Birchstar.

Applepaw didn't bother to look back as he followed his snowy-furred mentor to a surprisingly large group of apprentices' from all the clans.
They where all chatting, some of them looked old enough to be warriors and others looked like they had just waddled out of the nursery.

Applepaw couldn't judge though as he probably looked like that too.

He licked his chest fur nervously as Rainwhisker stopped a few pawsteps away. Looking over his shoulder at him, "Go on. And don't tell anyone about what's going on in the clan, or they'll learn to much and use it against us." He growled quickly and quietly but Applepaw had picked it up.
