The pod has been humming through the whole night.

I fell asleep soon after sharing my story with Jafar, but he kept up the whole night.

I asked the girls to bring us food, we ate and since then we've just been sitting and waiting.

I'm pretty sure Jafar has been thinking about the huge flying dragon-chicken thing a lot, 'cause he has kept asking stuff I don't know the answers to.

Like its specific looks; does it have feathers, how big is 'massive', and what colour was its beak. Or what kind of sounds it made, expecting me to imitate the thing.

Like I would've fucking inspected the thing at midnight, while being chased.

That wasn't the only thing he was curious about. The other thing was:

"Did he really try to help with menial work?"

I groan and whip my head towards him. "For the last time, yes, but as I said; he's useless. Could. Not. Do. One. Thing. Right. How many times do I have to say this?"

He did eventually, but that's besides the point.

He grunts, and a smile plays on his lips. "It's just… so funny to think about. I know how clumsy he is. I can't imagine him out in the wilds."

"Well, I witnessed it," I say. "It's a hard job keeping him alive."

I guess I could praise him a bit.

"He did learn to make a fire and a bed eventually, if I'm honest. So he wasn't that much of a disability by the end," I say.

Jafar's smile widens, and I bite my lip. These brothers have genes even the God's would be jealous of.

"But you're quite amazing yourself. How did you learn… Oh right, the criminal."

"Yeah, Finn," I mumble. "Is he dead yet?"

"We can't execute our kind without the Shurak's permission," he says and straightens his long legs, essentially blocking my way out of the room. "So he's waiting for the same thing we are."

"You sure he won't escape?"

Jafar shakes his head. "He got Harwal pretty mad. He's been standing guard with a few others."

"Harwal? The bull horned-dude?"

"Yes… I think?" He says and yawns widely, showing off the canines and black mouth. "His pride is a bit injured. I don't know what happened, but he's definitely annoyed by something."

"Wait, wait, wait — did you say that this innocent-looking guy has to supervise executions?"

Just thinking about my pretty Bambi looking at those makes my gut churn. He's too innocent to witness the ugly.

"Yes, of course," he says, giving me an odd look. "What do you think he is? He's the Shurak, not a clueless Kit."

I scratch my cheek awkwardly. "Well, he sure fooled me."

"I guess he might not look like it, but a Shurak is what it is. He has our whole race on his shoulders, the good and the bad."

This might be wrong of me, but that sounds kinda hot. To think there's a different side to Aladdin. It's somehow really attractive to me. Damn.

"Did you think he's just a pretty face?" Jafar chuckles, and I feel my cheeks fill with heat.

I don't blush. I grab my cheeks, and sure enough, I'm blushing. They're scorching.

"I don't—"

The pod beeps loudly, and we both turn to the wall and watch as the pod starts emerging from the wall.
