The Karshok, Dekar, does take me to the ship, and he mumbles a couple more apologies along the way.

It honestly is a bit awkward, but oh well. He's going to be on my ass most of the time from now on. Apparently, he, the eyes-Karshok and the mouth-Karshok, are going to be on Aladdin's ass at all times and, by extension, on my ass.

The hands-Karshok is the dude who owns this place and won't be coming with us. There's even one more, who's 'the legs', but he's somewhere cold and stays there in a city he has. I guess he's in Europe from the way Dekar explains it, but who the hell knows.

"Where's the mouth one then? I saw him once," I say, remembering he was around when I first came to the clay-town. We trudge up the ramp towards the command centre.

"He is investigating the creature that attacked the Shurak… and Shuran," he says, remembering I exist belatedly. "That creature was from our destroyed planet. It should not exist here or anywhere. It means there could be smugglers that have taken different creatures and released them here."

"Me and my girls actually might be of help with those kinds of people," I say and march to the command centre. "We have many contacts with shitty aliens."

As I get to the room, I smack the comms button. "Time for a meeting. I got some serious stuff to talk about." I sit on my chair and cross my legs. "Anyway, I need to have a chat with my girls."

He stares at me, not making any effort to leave.

"That means you can go," I say, smiling politely, of course.

"This Karshok can't leave her unattended on a ship."

"Why? Afraid I'm gonna run?"

He jerks a nod and avoids looking me in the eyes.

I snort and cross my arms. "I wouldn't dare leave my little Bambi alone. Who would take care of him?"

His eyes narrow, but he doesn't meet my eyes. "Why does she insist on calling the Shurak with names?"

"He's such a baby-deer that I just can't resist," I say and clutch my chest. "Haven't you seen those doe-eyes? Ugh, so crushing. I can't not tease him."

"He's the Shurak," he mumbles under his breath. "She can't keep disrespecting him in front of people."

"It's just you and me, eye-boy." I lean back and lift my feet on the chair with a smug grin. "You all have that nice, innocent way of seeing the world that it's too easy to rile you up. You guys can't have that stiffy up all day long. Relax a bit. Bambi is fine with me calling him names. I don't even know his given name, so what the hell am I supposed to call him?"

"How about 'Shurak'?" He asks, finally looking at me.

I wave my hand sighing dramatically. "It's so impersonal to call him what all you luggers call him."

His mouth sours into a pout, and I chuckle at him.

"What's up now?" Rita comes into the room first, dodging the Karshok with some mean side eye. "Did you manage to get in trouble again?"

I grin and look at the man in question. "Am I in trouble?"

He grunts and goes to lean next to the entrance to the room. "She is not in trouble," he finally mumbles.

"What's happening then?" Rita asks and leans on the chair near me. "You scored some kind of deal?"

I smile tightly and shrug. "Let's wait for all the girls to arrive, yeah?"

"That bad?" Rita says and plants her ass on the seat. "You should probably tell Candice there's a Zohra here."

I grimace and look at the Karshok. "You should try and make yourself smaller."
