Dhanajay had been killed by a rival party when he had tried to trade the black book for protection. Viraj was relieved he wouldn't have to punish his chacha himself. But he felt for Jahaan.

Jahaan had gone into his shell when the news of his father's death broke. But Kavya had started her practice again.

She spent time with her soon to be devar and he was able to perform the last rites after all with their support.

By the thirteenth day since the funeral. Lavanya and Mandhira even started to make amends. Tensions would remain as both came from different backgrounds but both had now lost their husbands in untimely manners.

They could work through their grief together.

The Suris became reclused after losing elections. They wouldn't not be a direct threat for now.

Viraj made sure security did not allow them in for the funeral.

He took Kavya aside one morning as they were about to gather with the others for breakfast.

"They are multiple reasons why I can't give you a grand wedding. Chacha just died, and there is so much uncertainty since his passing. We have been betrayed by one of our own," he stated.

She put her hand on his arm and gently pulled him towards herself.

" I am not expecting a big wedding. A simple wedding with just our family is fine. By heart I am simple girl. Whatever makes you happy," she assured him.

He held her face in his hands.

"How did I get so lucky to get you as my life partner? I would have ended up with Shanaya or some other wrong woman," he stated.

She caressed his hair.

" Relax, I am here for you!"

He looked at the fading scars from her forehead and her upper chest.

She had sustained many zakhms for him already, but here she was still by his side. She kept fighting his demons with him.

A few days later...

They had a small intimate ceremony and signed for their marriage license soon after.

They had reception later that evening.

Viraj gazed at his beautiful new bride as she struggled to clasp the pendant around her neck.

She had wanted a manglasutra. They couldn't agree on short notice as to how grand or simple it should look.

They went with a gold subtle pendant. It had been made from one of her mother's jewelry pieces that Vinod Grewal had kept aside for his daughter when the right time came.

He stepped closer to stand behind her and gripped her fingers.

Leaning in closer to her, he whispered," Allow me my wife."

Every time she blushed and she felt goosebumps across her skin.

He kissed the nape of her neck as her hair had been done up in a braided bun.

" You look better with your hair down, but I understand for appearances you want your hair like this. Remember for me your happiness comes first," he said warmly.

She squeezed his hand .

" Same here husband. Shall we go before they start to wonder if we will ever show up?"

Viraj smiled and offered his arm to her.

They made their entry , the first as husband and wife.
