May held her official Hoenn Contest Hall pass up in the air, staring at it with awe. Turns out getting into a contest was as simple as registering you and your pokémon and picking a time and date. She planned to return on a later day, though, when she wasn't as behind on her training.
She wasn't paying attention to where she was walking and nearly took out someone on the sidewalk. Their bodies collided hard, and it took every ounce of will power in her to not topple over.
"Hey, watch it!"
Some kid wearing a funny white hat sneered at the brunette, looking over his shoulder as he walked past. A green, lizard-like pokémon stood at his side. It was sneering at her too, although it looked so much more menacing than he did.
"Get back here!" May shouted, running after the kid. "It was an accident, you know! You don't have to be so rude!"
The boy and his pokémon stopped, turned around, and stared dead on at her. What did they think they were doing, anyway? Trying to intimidate her? Well, it wasn't going to be quite that easy.
She stood her ground and crossed her arms over her body. "Are you gonna apologize?" May said, furrowing her brow.
He just scoffed and looked back the other way. The pokémon followed suit, and together they walked off. They didn't seem like the type to apologize, especially for minor accidents.
May's blood was boiling. If there was one thing she couldn't stand, it was inconsiderate people. Maybe she should've been paying attention to her surroundings. But, maybe they should've had the decency to apologize... Or, even move out of the way.
His face had been burned into her mind though, for some absurd reason. He looked so oddly familiar. Was it the steely blue eyes that resembled Mrs. Birch's so much? Or that nose, which was so similar to Professor Birch's? They did say they had a son... But that couldn't be him, could it?
The brunette found herself wandering around Route 110. Since she needed to get some training done today anyway, she figured that it wouldn't hurt to stay out here. Her eyes scanned the area, looking for an abundance of tall grass.
Just as she found the perfect spot, however, she had noticed someone kneeling down and writing in a notebook. It was that kid in the white hat, with his pokémon right beside him. It looked a lot like he was doing fieldwork... And for some reason, that made her even angrier.
