She was all alight with fury as she advanced on Mitroshka. He stood stock still, chin tucked but eyes raised in defiance, his fists balled at his sides. "You will let me see him!" she growled out loudly.
Mitroshka shook his head and opened his mouth to say something, but just then the door to the infirmary where she'd been kept all this time opened. Ivan was first in, exchanging an uneasy glance with her. She hadn't seen Ivan since the day she'd threatened him in the snow, but she knew he hadn't told anyone or else she and her brother would be dead by now.
The man she truly feared entered after him. Kiril refused to look her in the eye, his cold demeanor vaguely sullen and more than a little angry. "Brother, finally," Mitroshka said exasperated. "This one is demanding to see her brother and Vsevolod. Again." He shot her an annoyed glance as he spoke, but when the brothers made eye contact some hidden knowledge passed between them that made her skull ache.
It made her suspicious, so she pressed the matter. "I have every right to see my brother. I have done everything asked of me."
Kiril shifted, looked between his brother and Ivan, and then mumbled out, "This is not in your best interest, Theophania."
For the first time since the shift, Dancer and Theo were of the same mind. Theo stalked forward leaving destruction in her path. She overturned a cart full of medical instruments with a resounding crash and tipped an IV hanger alongside it as she made her way to the Russians. "I do not care for your opinions," she snarled, her voice warped with Dancers' own, turning it into something not quite human.
Ivan's eyes widened as he shrank away from the chaos, but he said nothing. Kiril on the other hand stepped up to her challenge, his own eyes showing the raging storm in his soul. Passion and anger all rolled into one and shoved into that sharp storm cloud gaze. "Leave us," he barked out.
Ivan was quick to oblige, wanting nothing to do with the fight that could ensue. His brother was more reluctant, casting a few hesitant glances over his shoulder as he left. When the door clicked shut, the tension grew. He searched her eyes for a long moment, and then she caught his gaze flickering to her mouth.
She realized she still had a way in. That this man was not so infallible as he made himself out to be. Theo's tone changed, softened some, but lost none of its severity. "Do this for me," she pleaded, reaching out a hand to snag his own.
Kiril stiffened at the contact, but leaned in towards her. "I cannot. Vsevolod is the only one who can allow you to see him. He's too dangerous."
"Take me to him, Kiril. Take me to your brother." A shudder ran down the man's spine as she said his name. His eyes were all longing now, and his fingers tightened around hers, ice against fire, subduing the burn that had become a constant companion.
"I only wish to keep you safe," he explained with a hoarse voice.
"You wish to keep me. This will help you do that. If I do not see my brother, I will leave all of this behind. I will leave you behind- but I don't want that."
