Chapter Thirteen

"It's the Mind Stone. It's one of the six Infinity Stones, the greatest power in the universe, unparalleled in its destructive capabilities. I had a vision it would be safe here, with him and he is what Tony was creating." 

"I see I've missed all the fun." Everyone turns to look at you. 

"Y/N?" Relief washes over everyones face, Steve runs towards you and holds you "what in the hell happened?" 

"I could ask you lot the same thing?" You motion to Vision "You made a floating JARVIS?"

"I would properly introduce myself, but I have not yet worked out who I am." He says, he looks at you a soft smile on his face. 

"Theres no rush." 

"Ok. . . this is nice but seriously where the hell have you been?" Tony looks at you. Natasha nods as if to say, just go for it, the truth is better. 

"I've been trying to help fix Bucky." Steve stiffens a little, looking at you curiously "I found a way to adjust my powers so I can get into peoples heads. . . well its still a work in progress but, HYDRA have a trigger for the Winter Soldier. He's not a threat as himself but. . ." 

"But you real off some words and he turns into a monster?" Clint raises a brow. Natasha elbows him. "Sorry." 

"I couldn't risk anyone being found." You look at Steve "I'm sorry, I didn't have time to think and I . . ." He hold you close. 

"Its ok" he coos "I'm just glad your back." 

"So where is he now?" Bruce looks at you "Maybe we could help him?" 

"He's been hunted for crimes from the last 50 years. . . ." 

"I don't think any of us are in a place to judge." Natasha says gently. 

"Once we defeat the giant angry robot thats all over everywhere. . .maybe we can talk about Manchurian candidate?" Tony brings everyone back to focus. 

"Right" You say relieved to move on, Steve holds your hand as you stand together. "So, have we got a new Avenger?" You look at Vision. "Are you on our side?"

"I don't think it's that simple." Vision ponders. 

"Well it better get real simple real soon." Clint looks skeptical. 

"I am on the side of life. Ultron isn't, he will end it all."

"What's he waiting for?" Tony looks at Vision. 

"You."

"Sokovia?" Vision nods. 

"If we're wrong about you, if you're Ultron 2.0 . . ." Bruce looks at him weary. 

"What will you do?" Vision looks around at you all "I don't want to kill Ultron. He's unique, and he's in pain. But that pain will roll over the earth, so he must be destroyed. Every form he's built, every trace of his presence on the net, we have to act now. And not one of us can do it without the others. Maybe I am a monster. I don't think I'd know if I were one. I'm not what you are, and not what you intended. So there may be no way to make you trust me. But we need to go." You all stare in disbelief as he holds up Thors Hammer, and hands it to Thor.  When Thor takes it, Vision walks off.

"Right." Thor spins the hammer and then pats Stark on the shoulder. "Well done." He says before walking off. 

"Three minutes. Get what you need." Steve says to the others. "Oh I'm so glad to see you." 

"Steve, I'm so sorry for running. . . " 

"You wanted to save our friend" he says looking at you "thats what heroes do, I'm not angry I'm just glad he didn't hurt you." He checks you over to confirm.
