Our Love Story // Chase Davenport

Me, Leo, Adam, Chase, Bree, and Mr Davenport were all in the lab. Right now I was sparring against chase. I'll admit I was kinda nervous since I was going against a bionic kid.

"I'll take it easy on you." Chase said smirking. "No need. I got this in the bag." I said as my ego kicked in out of no where.

He tried to make my knees buckle as I caught his leg and flipped him on the ground. He recovered quickly and got back into his stance. This time I charged at him. I acted like I was going to punch him on his right side so he'd be distracted and punched him in his left side.

He backed away groaning in pain as he regained himself. He got back into position as he flipped and tried to kick me in the neck. I grabbed his leg flipped him over on his back and got on top of him.

"I win." I said as I got off of him as everyone started clapping. "Thank you." I said as I did a little bow.

"Wow! That was awesome! Chase you just got beat up by a girl!" Adam said laughing.

"Yeah. Yeah. Hey, good job. You're really good at this. How'd you know how to do that?" Chase asked me. "Oh I've been training since I was 2 that's when my parents enrolled me into fighting." I said

"Where are you're parents now? And why don't you live with them?" Adam asked.

"Guys, let's not ask that of her." Mr Davenport said.

"No, no, it's fine. Maybe one day I'll tell y'all. Just right now I'm not ready." I said hoping theyd understand.

"Rude." Adam said as I looked at him Bree hit his chest. "I'm sorry, he's not really brains like Chase nor does he have common sense." She said trying to make me feel better.

"Oh don't worry. It's okay." I said smiling. "Hey, Adam, can we be friends if I go sneak you a ice cream?" I whispered to him smiling.

"I don't know what that is. But whatever it is I'll eat it! Thanks Cadence." He whispered back. I smiled at him saying a your welcome.

Adam, Bree, and Chase went back to regular training when Chase put up his force feild Adam started asking questions like.

"Hey! Why does he get a force field, and I don't?" He asked making me smile. I could see the annoyed look on Chases face as it disappeared when me and him made eye contact. I looked away quickly blushing as we made the eye contact just a few seconds prior.

"Because if you had one, I wouldn't be able to do this." She said as she threw a water bottle at adams chest.

"Okay. You guys take the rest of the day off. I'm gonna go speak at a tech conference— because I'm awesome—I'm gonna have the speedboats detailed, then I'm gonna go get waxed. Don't judge me." Davenport said as I had a look on my face. I quickly replaced it with a smile as he left.

"Well we better get ready for school." Leo said as he and I got up. Bree grabbed his arm as Chase grabbed mine to make us stop in our places.

"Ohh! We've always dreamed about going to school. Passing notes, going to prom." She said which made me smile. "Ohh! I love the prom! Ooh we could get dresses, go shopping-" I
Said but Leo cut me off.

"Cadence, they don't go out into the real world." He pointed it out making me remember of what I had forgotten what he said the other day.

"Oh." Is all I said as i quieted down. "Yeah. All we do is eat, sleep, and train for missions. We're like human lab rats." Chase said folding his arms.

"Come on, it can't be that bad." Leo said as we turned our heads to Adam in an actual hamster wheel.

Adam nodded and waved his hand at us as he smiled which made me smile and laugh at his guesture.

"So you've never left this room?" Leo asked. They shook their heads no. "That explains the haircuts." I said making them offended. "I'm sorry! It's true! Mr Davenport needs to let you into the real world." I said pointing out.

"I bet schools fun." Adam said smiling real big. "You know except for books, classes, and learning stuff." His smile turned into a frown quickly. "Same! I hate doing that stuff." I agreed with Adam.

"It's not fun when you're the smart kid."
Leo said making me giggle at my best friend.

"Well down here, smart is considered superior." Chase said.

Adam and Bree looked at each other and said. "No , it's not." At the same time.

"Don't listen to them, chase." I tried making him feel better.

"Hey you guys should go to school with us!" Leo suggested. "You could be our bionic body guards!" He said smiling. "Well not Cadence she knows how to fight. Maybe just back her up against the football boys. They bully us." Leo said.

"Ok!"

"I'm in!"

"Let's go!"

"Not on my watch, laser brains!" Eddie said as we tried to run out of the room. "Aw, shoot. We forgot about davenports creepy computer."  Adam complained.

"I thought it was just in the living room!" Leo exclaimed as I watched his eyes go wide. "Yeah I did too unfortunately." I said frowning.

"Nope! I'm everywhere." Eddie said popping up on the screens behind us. "In my shower?" I asked. "Yep. And by the way, nothing needs to be that clean, Leo." Eddie said which made me laugh.

"Okay, we need to shut that thing off." Leo said immediately. "Never gonna happen, okay? Eddie is an incredibly complex and sophisticated piece of machinery. It would take years before-" chase said as Adam snatched the wires from Eddie's box shutting him off.

"Aha! Sweet! I barely got electrocuted!" Adam laughed making me high five him.

"Okay, come on. If yall are going to school, y'all can not go looking like that." I said pointing at their mission suit.

"Yeah and we need to shower first. Because two of us really stink." Bree said making it towards Adam and Chase.

After they were done showering they got out of their capsules and stepped on the ground. "Oh great. You gave me your underwear by mistake." Adam groaned.

"Gross!" I said laughing at that.

"What are you complaining about? I got the bra." Chase said lifting his shirt.

"Oh geez." I said as they got back into their capsules.
