"The pub created many rooms above for people to stay in ever since the death. It had a big effect on the village. We have always been a very peaceful place until that happened. Now, it's like we've changed completely and not for the better," explained David as they walked down the stairs.

Once the three of them got down the stairs David and Crispin led Alisia to the counter near the entrance to the pub. The barmaid that Alisia had previously spoken to was standing behind there.

"Hi Alice," smiled David at the barmaid. The barmaid smiled back. David then leaned forward over the counter and gave Alice a kiss on her cheek. Alice then blushed a radiant shade of red. Alisia watched him do this to Alice. Alice was fair skinned and had long hair that shone like the sun. Why wouldn't David like her? Alisia couldn't love David. He had somebody else. Alisia's joyful emotions had been crushed.

"Could you please get a room for Alisia, just for the night?" said David. His face had been filled with happiness and joy once more. "I'm sorry Alisia, I haven't introduced you two. Alisia this is my girlfriend Alice," smiled David his gorgeous smile that had first got Alisia's attention.

"Nice to meet you," smiled Alice showing her straight white teeth in her smile. She put one hand out for a handshake.

"My pleasure," said Alisia smiling in return and shaking her hand. Alice's hand was soft, if her hand was any softer Alisia's hand would have slipped in their handshake. And her nails were long but manicured.

"So, you want a room for the night. You're in luck; we have one last single room. Number twenty four. Here is your key, just up the stairs turn right and you'll see it. If you need anything just ask me," beamed Alice, her shiny skin hitting the light in the pub.

Alisia walked up the stairs that weren't as steep as the flight going up to the room with David and Crispin. Once she got to the landing Alisia turned right and saw a whole row of rooms. They were all numbered. Alisia checked all the numbers on the doors until she found twenty four.

Alisia unlocked the door and slowly opened it. The room was small but has the essentials. There was a bed against the wall; there was a table next to the bed with a lantern on it. It hadn't been lit. There was a small window with curtains which were closed. An oval shaped mirror was on the wall. It had a small crack in the side. Alisia looked in the mirror. She took down her hood. She could see her scar embedded in her skin. She then took a look at her hand, since she was attacked by the Spirit of Darkness, the bruising had spread, it had gone all over her hand and now up her entire arm. Alisia sighed.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Alisia put her hood and put her gloves back on to hide her bruising. she hurried to the door. She opened the door quickly. There standing in the doorway was David. Just his presence made Alisia feel nervous.

"I just came to see how you were settling in," said David simply. Alisia giggled quietly. "This room is a bit untreated though," admitted David. Did David want something better for Alisia?

"It's all right, I'm only staying for the night," said Alisia.

"All right then," shrugged David. "I have a shift down at the bar serving drinks, if you want to help or just want to chat you can come," suggested David waiting for Alisia.

"Yes! I mean, yes, that would be lovely," answered Alisia.

"Come on then, let's go," smiled David with his dashing smile. Alisia followed David. Alisia felt so stupid. She came on so strongly at first with her answer. She just hoped David had forgotten about her first answer.

Once they got down the staircase Alice and Crispin were waiting for them. Alice gave Alisia a horrid glare as she came to the bottom of the stairs. David and Crispin didn't notice as they were giving each other a brotherly hug.
