The three of them all landed with a thud on their backs just outside the forest. They all started getting up followed by trying to soothe their backs.
"That is the second time that has happened to me today!" complained Crispin.
"Well the ghost got us out of the forest didn't he? So don't complain about something that he helped us with," said Alisia firmly as she tried to soothe her own back.
"By the way Alisia, what did that ghost whisper to you?" asked David now able to stand on his feet. Alisia forgot about that. She had to think of something quickly.
"He just said to be safe on our journey that's all," said Alisia lying through her teeth. David nodded though Alisia knew he wasn't convinced. Alisia and Crispin got to their feet and brushed the dirt off their knees. Crispin looked into the distance.
"What's that?" he said squinting far ahead. Alisia and David stared in the direction Crispin was looking into.
"We're here!" exclaimed Alisia. "The Ice Cap Mountains," the mountains went high into the clouds and were a shade of blue that could never be imagined. Just then they saw the sun begin to hide behind the distant hills. Nightfall was on its way.
"We'll have to rest here for the night, we will continue our journey at dawn," said Alisia setting her things down ready to get some rest.
"There's nothing outside the forest that's going to attack us or eat us or anything along those lines?" clarified David still sceptical about what he had got himself into. Alisia turned and looked at him.
"There isn't anything here in this spot that we are in that will attack us, eat us, or do anything along those lines," said Alisia assuring her friend. David gave a small nod in response. "At least I don't think so," Alisia muttered under her breath.
"What?"
"Should we make a fire?" suggested Crispin quickly.
"Yes, I'll look for some fire wood," offered Alisia. She got to her feet and went to the forest to look for some fire wood.
"Don't get lost!" said David.
"Don't worry, I'll stay nearby," Alisia replied.
"Wait, take this, it might come in handy," said David, and he handed Alisia his dagger.
"Ok, thank you, I'll see you later then," said Alisia nervously clutching the dagger in her hands.
David went back to sit down with Crispin. David had a wide smile on his face. He looked as if he was in a faraway, blissful dream and didn't want to escape. Crispin watched as David lay on the ground and stared up at the stars in the night sky.
"What are you thinking about so dreamily?" asked Crispin curiously.
"Nothing," answered David. "I really don't know, I just feel so happy and warm inside,"
"I think we both know what that feeling is," grinned Crispin sitting down next to David.
"I can't, I love Alice, that's why I'm here right now. I love Alice. Alisia is just my friend who's helping us to find Alice, right?" said David beginning to question himself inside.
"If that's how you feel," said Crispin gazing up at the stars hoping that David wouldn't fall for Alisia. David might not be sure of his feelings for Alisia but he was. Crispin loved Alisia. He fell in love with her from the moment he laid eyes on her. Crispin then lay on the ground and gazed at the stars in the night sky.
"I'm back!" called a voice from the forest. David and Crispin jumped up. Out of the forest walked Alisia with bundles of fire wood in her arms. Alisia dropped the fire wood on a spot in the middle of their camp site.
