23. The Second Task (Year 4)

    I woke up early, no nightmares at all for once. I can't help but wonder what that potion Snape gave me was. I am alone in my room so I grab my journal and crack it open before grabbing my quill, and my earbuds. I put my earbuds in and started listening to my playlist, focusing on one song that played; 'Yes to heaven.' I started writing

3 January 1995

Dear Diary,

Well my whole friend group now knows what I have been hiding, as does my head of house. I had to promise my brother I would not use any glamour spells, I wonder if he'd make an exception given that today's task is in the frigid, dark, murky waters of the Black Lake. I know I need to eat breakfast. I am just nervous as all hell for this event. I woke up alone, I haven't seen Draco since last night, he never came back. Is that why Snape gave me the potion? I mean I needed the sleep, I just worry about if he hates me currently. They all know I have been cutting myself, so now I am forbidden to use a glamour spell without Draco at least knowing. I have to go. I have to find my brother, Dray, Mattheo, Enzo, Pansy, anyone really.

I tuck my diary away and continue listening to my playlist as I pull my hair up into a high ponytail. I look at my wardrobe and see sitting there is the stupid champion uniform. Sighing, I pull it on and take a deep breath as I finish getting ready and tuck my wand in my waistband. "I think I have everything now." I say to myself as I go to the common room. I look around and see most of my friends, but not my boyfriend or brother. "Hey, have you guys seen Theo, or Draco?" I ask them as they look at me shocked.

"What do you mean I thought Draco was with you still?" Pansy asked, I could hear the jealousy in her voice.

"He was until Snape came into my room, saying he needed Draco, and Theo and Draco weren't back this morning. Snape gave me a potion to knock me out that I remember after that nothing. You don't think they were taken for the task?" I ask, starting to panic.

"Alessia, calm down, you are going to exhaust all your energy before the task today." Enzo said, pulling me into a hug.

"I'm going to grab a few jumpers, just in case my suspicions are right. If they are Theo, Draco and I are gonna need the sweatshirts. Blaise, can you grab one of my brother's jumpers for me?" I ask, he nodded and went to the dorm he and Theodore share bringing out one of his jumpers. I went into my dorm and grabbed two of Draco's for him and I, tucking them in an enchanted bag. I looked at the others, "which one of you guys wants to hold this?" I ask, holding out the bag. I sighed in relief when Mattheo took it. "We should go, the task starts soon." I say my voice flat.

"Are you going to try to clean up your face?" Pansy asked.

"I would but my brother and boyfriend forbid it anymore. Only way Snape would keep quiet." I say turning to the common room entrance.

"Let's get food for you Dei." Enzo says walking beside me.

"I am not hungry Enzo, I think if I eat before this I might just throw up. I'll eat after." I say hoping he believes me.

"Okay, but when we find Theo and Draco I am telling them you skipped a meal again." Daphne said.

"I'm sure they'll understand today of all days. Now I need to figure out how to bring those two gits to the surface and the dock if that is what the sirens took." I say thinking of all the spells I know. "I got how I am going to free them, but as for dragging both to the dock, I am so much smaller than them. Any ideas?" I ask as we walk to the place of the second event.

"Just swim, dragging them with you." Blaise suggested causing me to roll my eyes and chuckle. "Glad to see even a small on your face Dei, I missed it."
