Eventually, Saturday arrived, and I was abruptly jolted awake from my peaceful slumber by the deafening sound of Phitchit's scream.

Emerging from my slumber, I stumbled out of bed and sluggishly walked to the living room, where I found Phitchit beaming with excitement.

"Yuuri, it's time to get ready!" he exclaimed with infectious energy.

I rubbed my eyes and yawned. "Get ready for what?"

Phitchit's eyes rolled in disbelief. "Don't tell me you forgot about your coffee date with Victor today! I can't let you choose your outfit for something so important."

My heart skipped a beat as I remembered my coffee date with Victor. I quickly shook off the last remnants of sleep and smiled at Phitchit.

"Right, right, I almost forgot," I said, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement.

Phitchit wasted no time in pulling out a selection of outfits from my closet, laying them out on the bed for me to choose from. As I tried on different outfits, Phitchit critiqued each one with an expert eye.

After much deliberation, I settled on an outfit that was both stylish and comfortable. I chose a classic flannel shirt with buttons, paired with a neon windbreaker that I left unzipped. The blue, high-waisted jeans with a few rips completed the look. I felt confident that my outfit would make a good impression on Victor.

With Phitchit's approval, he pushed me out the door with a laugh. I grabbed my Walkman, pressed play, and listened to Dolly Parton's new release, "9 to 5," which was quickly becoming one of my favourites.

As I walked to the coffee shop, I couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. This was my second date with Victor, and I wanted everything to go perfectly. I took deep breaths and focused on the music, letting the upbeat tempo of "9 to 5" lift my spirits.

When I arrived at the coffee shop, Victor was already there, sitting at a table by the window. He looked up as I entered, and a smile spread across his face.

"Yuuri, you made it!" he said, standing up to greet me.

I couldn't help but smile back. "Of course I did. I wouldn't miss our coffee date for anything."

As we settled down and ordered our drinks, Victor surprised me by asking personal questions beyond the roller skating rink plans. "Yuuri, can you tell me more about yourself? What was your childhood like? What happened to your parents?"

I took a sip of my favourite hazelnut coffee before replying, "I lived in Japan until I was around seven years old. It was a beautiful country, but the culture is much more refined compared to what I'm used to here. My parents have a large house a few streets down from here, but I don't visit them too often."

"So, you're Japanese. I suspected as much from your beauty, Yuuri," Victor remarked.

I blushed at the compliment, feeling both flattered and embarrassed. "Thank you, Victor. And yes, I am Japanese."

We continued talking about my childhood and family, and I found myself opening up to Victor in a way that I never had with anyone else. He was easy to talk to and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me.

"What can I be for you, Yuuri? A father figure, a friend, a brother?" Victor asked.

I didn't respond, instead burying my face in my crossed arms.

Victor persisted. "Then your boyfriend, I guess? I can try my best," he suggested.

My head shot up, and I waved my arms in front of me. "No, no, no, no, no!" I exclaimed. "I want you to stay who you are, Victor!"

Jesus Christ, could this man make me blush more than I already am?

As we finished our drinks and paid the bill, Victor suddenly looked at me with a mischievous grin. "Yuuri, I have an idea. Why don't we go for a skate at the rink right now? It'll be fun and it'll give us a chance to test out some of our ideas."

I hesitated for a moment, feeling nervous about the idea of skating with Victor again. But then I remembered how much fun we had at the rink the other day and how supportive he was of my skating. With a deep breath, I nodded my head and agreed. "Okay, let's do it."
