Ext. outside Paris's house
Paris puts her hand on Camoran's shoulder.
Paris
Now, my mom can be a little unpredictable, so keep your cool.
Camoran assures Paris with a gaze and Paris takes a deep breath. She opened the door.
When Paris and Camoran went in Diane was waiting for them in the dining room.
Paris
Hi, mom. This is Camoran Johnson.
Diane and Camoran exchange handshakes.
Camoran
Nice to meet you, Mrs. Rose. I've heard great things about you.
Diane
Good things, I hope.
Diane's eyes on Paris sarcastically. Paris's eyes were hopeful.
Diane
Why don't we sit down? Camoran would you like some water?
Camoran brushes his hand on Paris's. She smiles.
Camoran
No thanks, Mrs. Rose.
Everyone sat in the living room. Diane made eye contact with Camoran. Camoran looked nervous. Paris leans in and whispers...
Paris
She may seem intimidating, but she's very sweet.
Camoran smiles.
Diane
So, Camoran, I'm going to ask you something.
Camoran
Um, Okay.
Diane
Why do you want to date my daughter?
Camoran
To be honest, how can I not? Even though she has CP, it doesn't make her disabled She's a one in a million.
Paris looks at Camoran in shock.
Diane
(shakes shoulders) Then that's it.
Paris
Mom, can I take Camoran out to talk to him?
Diane
Of course, dear.
Paris and Camoran sit up and walk out. Paris sighs with relief.
Camoran
(Chuckles) I think that went well.
Paris
Yes.
Both
(Chuckles)
Paris
Can I ask you something?
Camoran
Yeah.
Paris
What you said--- back there? Was it true? (biting lower lip)
Camoran
It can't be any truer.
Paris smiles and wraps her arms around Camoran's muscular shoulders. They both chuckle.
Camoran
Do I need to ask you something?
Paris nods.
Camoran
At school, I'm going to a nursing home as part of my work class. I have to take someone for the four-week internship. I was hoping you would come with me.
Paris
That seems fun. I can talk to my mom. Will you be picking me up?
Camoran
Yeah, it's an independent thing. It's for our college internship too.
Paris
If my mom says yes then yes, yes. When is the class? When will you be picking me up specifically?
Camoran
It's the third period. I'll pick you up at eleven 'o'clock starting tomorrow.
Paris
Okay.
Camoran
Okay. I'm going to go. My mom texted me like a million times, so I'll call you.
Paris
Okay, good night.
