I stare out the window from my desk,
My schoolwork incomplete,
Mind blank,
Numb,
Laughter and chatter drowning from the ever growing buzz in my ear,
The glass is cold when I reach out to touch it,
"Jump", a whisper from deep in my mind,
I try to shake it off,
"Jump", it commands louder,
Faces turn and worried 'heys' and 'get downs' and 'what are you doings' echo behind me,
They don't really care,
They only care about the guys they're talking to and the sports after school,
It's all I ever hear in this classroom,
I don't bother looking back,
and I jump
- the daily temptation of the window
