Lost and found

Lay your gaze upon me,

I soak in your lust,

Your attention sweeter than honey,

The only one I truly trust

Slip past my barriers dear,

Ones for too long I've had to bear,

Reach for me,

In the deepest depths of my torturous mind

You're the only soul that's heard me,

Not just with your ears,

With your spirit,

You've heard my fears

Who is it that you see?

What is the truth?

Where have I been?

Tell me who I am

I don't want to be lost anymore,

Drowning in the oceans in my head,

Empty thoughts washing ashore,

Too difficult to read

Yet here you stand,

Proud and true,

But I am oblivious and confused,

Who am I to you?

Though I am no Augustus Waters,

I do not fear oblivion,

I fear death,

And the monsters I leave behind,

That, however, is a story for another time

You reach out for me again,

I flinch in fear,

Do you see the vile person I do?

I cannot stop the tears

You hold me tight,

And I sink in your presence,

Warm,

Safe,

Home,

Is this freedom at last?

The walls come down,

And I bloom again,

This is not a trick,

It's just my love [____]
