"You're such an idiot, you're so mine."
Jisoo's breath got stuck in her throat as she did not know what to do. Will she look up? If she does, she will surely melt. She continued staring at the Christmas lights but her mind was everywhere. Did Jin just say that because she was looking pretty right now? Was this a prank? Is this one of his weird jokes?
Her heart told her it would be better to leave, but her mind contradicted it. She needed an answer, she was done with jokes and fun. So she listened to her mind.
Looking up, she found Bohyun slightly smiling, eyes locking with her as she again felt her breath taken away. She looked around to make sure nobody was watching before looking at him again. "Why?"
Jin was surprised at her question. "Why?" he repeated softly, creasing his forehead in confusion as Jisoo sighed. "Who gave you the dare?" Jisoo asked looking at him straight in his eyes as he was surprised.
Dare? Nobody gave him any dare.
But before he could say that Jisoo continued, "Because I am tired of your weird games Jin. It has been going on for a year and this trip was torturous, every moment felt fleeting and your mixed signals are very confusing. I tried my best not to fall for you, but you made it impossible. So if this is another one of your jokes and tomorrow you will tell it is a prank, then please don't do this."
"Sooya, I really like you, not just this time, I have liked you always," Jin replied words getting jumbled up before the girl. "Are you sure? Because all this time you had denied the next day and going about your life. Is it because I look pretty right now? When you see me in my morning hair tomorrow, will you still like me?" Jisoo rambled on.
"Girl, I have seen you in your morning hair already," Jin voiced slowly but continued before Jisoo could again ramble. "I have liked you for a while, but I denied it every time because I was scared. I have always heard, that teenage love doesn't last for long, and I felt afraid. What if we break up? We will never be friends again."
He took in a deep breath as he stared at the girl, a mixture of emotions tugging at his heartstrings. She stared back, not knowing what to do. "I will think about it," Jisoo whispered hurriedly as she heard their parents coming and Jin nodded.
Maybe she will accept.
The whole night Jisoo tossed and turned and smacked her head in her restless pillow. She felt constricted, she wanted to accept him but what he said earlier about teenage relationships knocked repeatedly in her mind. She opened her phone to distract herself and scrolled through her gallery until she came across a picture, a screenshot she had taken about two weeks ago from Jin's Instagram.
It was a picture of him and his ex-girlfriend he had posted two years ago when they started dating. The screenshot, though, was taken just before this trip by Jisoo because Jennie had asked for it. Now that Jisoo was giving everything a real thought, she suddenly balanced herself on the thought of Jin still liking his ex.
And she decided to solve it.
Quickly pulling up Jin's chat, she texted him to meet outside. Then she took a quick note of the time- thirty past one. Pulling herself out of the blanket and putting on a warm thermal jacket she quietly left the room, making sure her parents did not wake up.
She knew Jin had seen her chat as she heard the sudden shuffling of his blanket in the next room almost in a second after her text reached. The walls were pretty thin, Jin was loud, and his parents were heavy sleepers.
She soon saw him coming out with a smile on his face and hopeful eyes and she felt assured, she didn't know what, but she felt it. Jin stood in front of her, stupidly grinning, and nudging her and she rolled her eyes.
"Stop it," she whined before saying, "I like you too." "What? I couldn't hear you?" Jin teased her as she glared at him. "I like you too," Jisoo repeated looking in his eyes as Jin smiled showing his teeth. "Wow, I don't know what to do now," Jin spoke nervously as Jisoo looked away, her cheeks feeling warm.
"Well, this is awkward," Jin continued as Jisoo laughed along with him. Why did she accept such a doofus?
Because that was a part of him she liked the most. She looked at Jin, who was still laughing, at his hair that was sticking to his forehead and puffy cheeks. His crinkled nose and eyes from laughing as she smiled. She really did like him.
Since there was nothing much to do, they both returned to their rooms, smiles lingering on both of their faces as they muffled their faces into their own pillows feeling giddy.
The next morning, the group dispersed out of the hotel to go to the main mall of the island. Hana and Jisoo both whined at their respective dads to buy them long boots, since they were cheap and good quality. Well according to Jisoo they were, she had heard from her friend.
Both of them entered the shoe shop and suddenly Jisoo's phone rang with a notification. She took it out to check it, simultaneously eyeing the maroon boots she liked. She saw it was from Jin and swiped it open to read it.
After reading it in a quick glance, she kept her phone away fast, so as to not raise suspicions and also not make her dad realise she was watching her phone. She pulled her dad's hand like a ten-year-old and pointed at the shoe she wanted.
She again quickly checked Jin's chats and slightly smiling at it, she pulled Hana beside her to tell her what she needed to do. Yes, they need a plan, and yes, Jisoo's mind is already at work.
YES, they are finally together. Also, I am thinking of opening a personal book, let's see. Anyways, vote and comment.
