"I don't have any dreams. But with you, maybe I can find my way back to having them."

Within the void, standing at the foot of the bed his minion was currently occupying, Vecna observed the young man as he gazed tenderly down at the sleeping female beside him, his own fist clenching.

He had been right.

His puppet was indeed hiding something, but it wasn't what Vecna had expected. For the past few days, Vecna had entered the void to spy on Eddie, to see what he was actually doing whenever he had entered this world. He had continued to kill, but instead of searching and killing multiple people like Eddie should have been doing, he only killed one person each night, and each kill had been far too quick for Vecnas liking. And worst yet, each solitary kill had only occurred after Eddie had spent the majority of the evening with the female that was beside him now.

Vecna recognized the young lady. He had seen glimpses of her within Eddie's mind when he had wiped his memory clean the night he had so graciously brought Eddie back to life. She had been his minions lover before he had died. She had been the one to hold him as he had taken his final breath. In fact, the last memory within Eddie's mind was those of the young lady's eyes.

Vecna felt betrayed. He had given his minion one simple rule. No one was to live if they saw him. If anyone were to come into direct contact with his puppet, they were supposed to die, preferably in the most harrowing and gruesome of ways. But here this young woman was, alive and leading his minion down the wrong path.

Over the past few days, Vecna had watched as Eddie fed from this Aileen girl, shocked that she had willingly given herself up to him in that way. He watched as the two of them had given into each other, his puppet hedonistically thrusting himself within the young girl as she mewled like a harlot beneath him. Worst yet, Vecna had watched as the young woman and Eddie talked. She knew of things that she had no business knowing, and when she had revealed to Eddie what she knew about Vecna himself, Vecna wanted nothing more than to kill her right then and there. She had no business telling his puppet things about Vecnas past. Alongside all of that, she was trying to get his puppet to remember who he had been before he had died.

Vecna didn't think it would work.

Even though he had been weak when he had brought Eddie back to life, Vecna was still powerful enough to be sure that Eddie's mind had been wiped clean. But the fact that she was hopeful enough to try anything she could to get Eddie to remember irked Vecna beyond compare. Everything that Vecna had required of the young man seemed to escape his mind when it came to this girl and with each passing day, it only further enraged him.

He could almost forgive Eddie for what he had done. If he was simply using the girl with the intent to kill her in the end, Vecna could almost excuse this betrayal. But with the words spoken by the young man just now, Vecna came to the grime realization that Eddie was in too deep with the young woman. She was giving him a sense of hope, making him forget that he was, deep down, a cold blooded killer and that his one true purpose was to help him and their one true master rid the world of the disease known as humanity.

She would be Eddie's ruin.

She was leading Eddie astray.

And Vecna couldn't have that.

Turning away from the scene before him, walking further into the void, Vecna came to a decision. Before she was able to take Eddie further away from his mission, this young woman was going to have to be dealt with.

And soon.
_______________

Sitting up straighter in bed, begrudgingly taking his eyes off of Aileens sleeping face, Eddie looked towards the end of the bed, his eyes narrowed. It had almost felt as though someone was watching them, but there was of course no one around to do so. But that feeling gnawed its way into the back of Eddie's mind, his jaw clenching. He didn't want anyone to see Aileen looking so vulnerable.
