I sat up after the creatures left and looked over there was a new lad maybe a couple years older than me sitting on the opposite bed, he was looking around the room when he spotted me staring at him he got up and walked over. "Hi I'm Brandon, who are you? "
"Oh uh its, I mean I'm um Lukas," I regarded him cautiously, was this a trick? He is another human that should be safe right? He chuckled lightly with sympathy on his face "you've had it rough haven't you, man I hate those bastards."  He sat on the edge of my mattress. " I've been here 2 years best I can tell, I was brought to another place kinda like here but more like a store then I escaped the beast that tried to buy me, when we went to the surface level. "
"Wait what! Store, buy?" What was he talking about I wondered.
"Poor man, you haven't realized, they treat us like pets here, or in my case a stray i guess."
My head seemed to spin as I tried to take it all in.  "Uhm what, like uh what is it like here." 
"Oh it's not to bad the bastards feed us, let us into a open pit for suporvised exercise, my last roommate said he used to get let into a pit with a few dozen people in it." 
He sat back and regarded me curiously "what is your story here."  
Looking down I hesitated before replying "nothing good, I was brought here and left in a pit with some criminals or something. "  I roll over on my mattress not wanting to continue the conversation, luckily he tales the hint.
