14 years later
"Come on Hope you can do better than that!" Her father encouraged her from the side of the arena.
"I'm trying!" She said through gritted teeth. The ball of water floating in front of her was the size of at least two double decker buses. She reached out with her mind and pulled some more water from the lake. She heard someone enter the arena and lost concentration. The water dropped to the ground. It would have soaked her. If she wasn't waterproof. She turned around and saw her mother standing by the exit.
"Okay that's enough for one day honey lets go get some lunch," he walked over and ruffled her hair. Or tried to. She dodged out of the way before he could. Her blonde hair had started to come out of it's ponytail. Strands falling over her eyes.
He grinned and put an arm around her shoulders and they walked over to Annabeth.
When Hope was four her parents had found the time to get married. Though she had been told bed time stories about their past, Hope knew little about what had happened in her parents lives. She knew they kept secrets from her. She heard their whispers when they thought she was asleep. Only snatched words stuck in her mind. "End" "Chaos" "Saga"
They lived in a house in New Athens. The house had been designed, like most of New Athens, by her mother.
It was an open plan building. It had fountains and a constant sound of trickling water. In other words. It was beautiful.
"What do you guys want to eat?" Annabeth asked as she walked towards the kitchen.
"I'll just have a sandwich," Hope said as she made her way towards the elaborate staircase. Hope walked into the second door on the left on the top landing. Her room was purple. It had a balcony view of the U shape of the original cabins that were off in the distance.
Hope was a full time camper but as a legacy she lived in New Athens with her parents. They had a garden that was full of olive trees. Their closest neighbour was the Graces.
Piper, Jason and their son Tristan.
Tristan was nine months younger than Hope. Both in the same school year. They had been best friends for as long as she could remember. Grown up together. Trained together. Everything. Her dad was constantly teasing her about Tristan. But they were just friends. Always had been, always would be.
"HOPE LUNCH IS READY!" Her mum called up the stairs.
"COMING MUM!" Hope yelled back.
She walked downstairs to get her lunch.
