(y/n) stood completely in shock, as José-- well, Pedro, defensively waved his hands before himself.
"Look it's not what you think, I just-- I didn't want you googling me or anything-"
"And you're an actual actor?? This is so embarrassing"
she cupped her red face, thinking back to the way she bragged about her small role in the show she just found out Pedro was an actual actor in.
" Hey, we all start somewhere"
"Oh my god. Wait. Game of thrones.." she pointed at Pedro, "..Pedro.. you're the Pedro???"

"Ha, uh, yeah...yeah I am"

"Jesus Christ. So you're the one I'm kissing??"

"Yep..I'm..I'm the old fart"

"Oh my god!" (y/n) took a seat on a nearby bench and buried her face in her hands. Pedro looked at her with solemn eyes and slowly sat next to her.

"Hey uh..are you mad?" He asked, with a bit of a waver in his voice. He didn't expect the little white lies to go this far, and the last thing he wanted was to lose what he had with (y/n).

"Ugh.." she lifted her face and sighed before looking at him,
"..no, I'm, I'm not, I'm just embarrassed.."
"There's nothing to be embarrassed about.." Pedro looked at her with a weak smile and then looked down at his hands,

"Im- I should've told you the truth.."
(y/n) lifted her head and asked him softly,
"why didn't you?"

He regained eye contact with her concerned face and began to explain, "I guess I just.. I wanted to talk to you and for you to see me as, well, me"
he looked back down at his hands, a bit ashamed at all the drama he had caused.
"I didn't want you to, like, Google me or something, I don't know, it's dumb-- sorry"
(y/n) reached her hand out and cupped it around his, with a comforting smile on her face. The sudden pain and embarrassment was all gone in a flash with the insecure confession that Pedro had spoken. She understood why he done what he did, and his profession and name didn't change all their interactions and their friendship.

Pedro was surprised at the gesture but grateful. Her presence itself comforted him, and the sense of understanding she radiated cause a wave of relief to wash over him.

"Its ok, I completely understand now why you did..well.. this. I guess I've just never been in your position, but if I was, I would want people to see me as a person, not just my name" They shared a look of mutual reassurance. They both understood that this didn't affect their friendship, and there were no hard feelings. (y/n) removed her hand from his, leaving Pedro with a sense of longing for the warmth that was no longer.

"So, Pedro, if that is your real name, tell me about yourself.

Pedro.

Pedro.

Pedro had heard many people say his name, his name is said all the time. But for some reason the way she said it was unlike any other way he's heard it before. The way the r rolled off her tongue, the way she said it with such care and tenderness, the way it left her lips like poetry or the utter of a Greek god's name.

He was completely and utterly infatuated.

"Hey! In my defense, José is my real name"

"Oh really? Then what about Pedro?"

"Well my full name is José Pedro Balmaceda Pascal, so technically not a full lie, I just go by Pedro"

"I see I see"

"As for myself, well, hm.." Pedro held his chin as he thought of what to say that he had not told her already, " well, I've been acting since I was 20-- well auditioning and all that jazz. I'm a proud Chilean-"

"Chilean?"

"Yes, born in Chile and then immigrated.." He looked up at her with a confused expression, " do I not look Hispanic?"

"no no, you do, I just, I don't know why I assumed you were Mexican like me" She said with an amused tone.
"You're Mexican? I just assumed you were Chilean"
The two smiled as they burst into laughter. It was as if the tension from before had fully melted away.

"Okok, listen to me Pedro, this is the ultimate test, are you ready?"

"I'm ready, come at me" he replied with a teasing yet challenging tone.

"Say 'avocado' in Spanish. Go."

Pedro scoffed and crossed his arms before proudly saying,

"Palta."

"Wrong. So wrong." She laughed as she saw his face contort to one of disbelief.

"Wrong? What? It's palta! Always has been always will be. Whats the right answer?"

"Aguacate!! I can't even say palta- look at my lips- palta, it just feels wrong"

"Well, aguacate is basic, palta is so much better" he said in a playfully defensive tone. The same tone a child would use showing off his new light up sneakers.

"That's so insanely incorrect but I'll let it slide just this once"

Pedro laughed as he stood and went into a dramatic pose,
"Oh-oh-oh- why thank you, your majesty, for forgiving a poor pleb such as myself"

(y/n) laughed as she crossed her legs and went into a a dramatic, snobbish poss herself,
"You're welcome! But next time I will not be as kind!"

The two laughed as Pedro sat back down, chatting away at the night, lost in their own little world.
