The alarm clock. How loud and obnoxious... Ink sat up in his bed reluctantly, or, he thought it was his bed. Upon further inspection, he realized he had woken up on the floor. Again. It's a bit strange how that's been happening so often recently.
"Kuni! Turn off the alarm clock!" The sound that woke him up in the mornings came from his brother's phone, since there was no reason to have two separate alarms. "Damn it, turn it off... it's too early for this..." Ink stood up and threw his comforter back on the bed.
The horrid alarm finally stopped sounding, and Ink looked toward his brother's bed, seeing him sitting on the edge of it. "Kuni~... I'm so tired..." Ink walked drowsily over to his brother and let himself fall on top of him. "It's too early..."
"Ugh, Ink... get off, we have to get ready for school..!" His brother tried to push him away, but didn't succeed. "Ink, if you don't go to school you won't get to ask out Ayato like you planned." This seemed to wake him up, as he immediately stood up and started searching through the closet for the perfect thing to wear.
"Ayato! How could I have forgotten? Forgive me my love!" He fell to the floor as he spoke, hastily pulling on a black skirt. "Kuni!! Don't just sit there, you have to get ready or we'll be late!" He demanded, sliding on his oversized sweater.
"Ink, you're so funny, you know?" his brother said, standing up and preparing his own outfit. Ink sighed, slipping his mismatched black and white patterned legwarmers on. The last thing he wanted was to miss his chance to finally confess to his crush of a year and a half.
"Why's it taking you so long to get ready, Kuni? Come on, we've got places to be!" Ink was bouncing up and down impatiently, watching his brother put on the last of his accessories. "Come on, come on!" Ink ran out of their room and into the bathroom, brushing his teeth rather aggressively.
"Ugh, it takes too long to wash my face!" He shouted, splashing water from the sink over his face. "But I have to still be pretty..."
"Chill out a little, Ink, it's not like Ayato's gonna disappear forever if you don't get there early." Ink turned, still drying his face with a towel, to see his brother standing there. "Now if you'd let me, can I brush my teeth?"
Ink put the towel down and stepped out of the bathroom, running down the hall and taking a bottle of strawberry milk from the fridge, slowing down for a moment to take a long sip of the heavenly sweet drink.
"Alright, Kuni, let's go!" Ink shouted down the hall when he saw his brother across it. He grabbed his bag and opened the door, impatiently waiting for his brother to get to the doorway. "Let's go, let's go, let's go!"
"I'm coming, geez..." The two brothers left the apartment, locking the door behind them, and they began to walk to school. Ink had a hold of his brother's hand, dragging him along. He knew better than to make Ink slow down, so he instead sped up to match his speed.
Suddenly, Ink stopped in his tracks. "Ugh, it's them." Sensing the hostility in Ink's voice, his brother looked ahead and saw a group of five people. Not any five people, but some of the most well known guys at the school. Venti, Xiao, Heizou, Aether, and Kazuha. Also known as his best friends and boyfriend.
"I don't know why you hang out with them, Kuni. They're so..." Ink trailed off, not finishing his sentence, simply just glaring at the laughing friend group. "Well, I guess Kazuha's not that bad, and I'm totally not just saying that because he's your boyfriend. But I don't like them."
One of the boys in the group saw the two brothers and waved excitedly, running towards them. "Scar~!" He called out, wrapping his arms tightly around Scaramouche. Ink rolled his eyes, continuing on the route to school, leaving his brother and his boyfriend behind.
"Hey, Ink, wait!" Scaramouche watched his brother speed walk away, feeling a little disappointed. He sighed, adjusting his bag on his shoulder as he continued to walk to school with his friends instead.
"Scar? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"No, don't apologize, Kazuha... you didn't do anything wrong," he said reassuringly, giving him a kiss on the forehead. "Ink's just being dramatic."
