It's been 2 hours since I left what used to be my home until my scumbag of an ex threw me out. All I've done since leaving is cry while sat on the railing of the bridge leading in and out of the city. What was once a blue sky is now a black one, freckled with stars and a light breeze passes on by from the motion of the cars behind me.
I sit alone in my thoughts and nobody as much as acknowledges my existence on the edge of the railing until I feel arms wrap around my waist cautiously. I look to my right and see a beautiful woman looking up at me with a pained but loving expression. I smile down at her then look back down at my fingers resting in my lap. "Hey beautiful, what's going on hmm? What's got you sat on this railing so late?" She almost whispers to me. I look back at her, unsure if the questions where rhetorical. When her eyes didn't pull away from my own, I reply "I just... I'm at rock bottom. I don't know what to do about it or how to... I guess get my life back?" Her arms tighten slightly around me and she rests her head slightly on the top of my arm.
We stayed like that for a while and it was like she was reading my mind and knowing everything I needed in that moment. I look down at her again with a slight smile spreading across my face before facing out of the bridge once more. I hear her sigh slightly then feel her touch leave my body. Next thing I know, a warm shirt is being wrapped around me, causing the goosebumps on my arm to disappear. I swing one leg back over the railing so I'm straddling it and look at her smiling up at me. "You looked like you needed it more than me, it's getting chilly out here. I'm Demi by the way" she says with a returned smile. I pull the thin fabric closer to my face and slightly breathe in the scent, sweet vanilla and a hint of perfume. "Thank you but you really didn't have to do that. I'm Y/N" I reply.
Her arms snake back around my waist, holding me in her embrace once again. I lean down and return the affection, gripping her band tee like she'd disappear at any moment. "Please come down off that railing beautiful, let me hug you properly?" asking cautiously as she pulls away. I take no convincing and get off the rail so I'm standing in front of her. She's a few inches taller than me which isn't hard when you're 5ft but I appreciate the height difference more than ever.
I reach out towards her, scared of something bad happening if I do it too quick. She senses my hesitation and pulls me into her, her warmth and scent fully surrounding me once again. "I'm not letting you stay out here on your own, I know it's a bit soon but you look like you need a place to stay and I have a spare bed if you'd like it?" She whispers in my ear, still hugging me. I nod into her chest, trying not to let more tears fall that have already fallen today. "Come on then, let's get you home for the night" she says pulling away from the hug but keeping her arm around my waist as she leads me to an insane looking sports car. I stop in my tracks, in awe of the vehicle in front of me. "Demi..." I manage to push out in a quick breath.
She looks at me and giggles before taking me by the hand and leading me to the passenger side. She pushes a button next to the door handle and the door lifts up, revealing a perfect black leather interior, all lit up by the lights from the audio system in the centre. Just when I thought this car couldn't get any more insane! I carefully climb in and she closes the door behind me before going to the driver's side and sliding in. "Seat belt" she says with a smirk. I let out a small laugh and put my seat belt on. "I take it you're not the best driver, huh?" I smirk back at her as the roar of the engine echoes around us. A loud, infectious laugh escapes her mouth which leads to her resting on the steering wheel to compose herself. "Listen here, I'm a good driver. Just the speed limits are too low for my liking..." she mumbles towards the end but still loud enough for me to hear and makes me laugh once again.
She starts driving through the city and towards a more secluded area where I've only ever dreamed of visiting. I should've guessed by her car that she was more than financially comfortable but I wasn't expecting to be going up to what I only knew to be spacious mansions owned by rich people who would never associate with anyone less than worthy of their presence. Demi, of course, wasn't like that. The whole ride back to her place, she spent talking lovingly about her family and how she hadn't seen them in the longest time because of work and them living in a different state.
The car slowly comes to a halt on the long driveway a beautiful modern house. It's like everything this woman does or has just blows my mind. Still sat in the passenger seat, I stare at the building in front of me with a jaw that couldn't drop any lower. Demi looks over and laughs before gently holding my chin and pushing it up to close my mouth. "So... are you ready to see your home for the night or are you just gonna sit there and stare at it?" She giggles. I look at her thankfully and nod then we both exit the car. She waits for me at the small gate leading up to the house and wraps an arm around my waist again as she opens it. We lock eyes once again and head up to her home.AN/ I'm gonna make a part 2 of this which will go more into depth about what happened to Y/N before Demi came along but will not be all depressing, there will be fluff 👀😁
