Gift That Keeps On Giving

You're celebrating your 5th christmas with your girlfriend Demi and her family at their home in Texas...
Christmas Eve
"You coming to bed babe?" You hear Demi call from the bedroom. You had just got out of a relaxing bath with bath bombs, bath salts and your favourite scent of bubble bath provided by Demi. She wanted to make sure this was the best Christmas you had ever had and she was definitely doing so.

You walk out of the ensuite bathroom with only a towel covering your modesty. Not because you were embarrassed of your body, 5 years is enough time to be comfortable around someone enough to be naked but you didn't want to risk Demi's family seeing you. Demi was last on the king size bed and was looking at her phone.

"Hey babe, I kn know it's only 11:30 but I wanna talk to you about one of your gifts" you inform her. She puts her phone down as you get ready and slide into bed beside her. You are both laying on your side and facing eachother, the lamps giving any bare skin a golden glow. She smiles a small smile and says "okay baby"

"So this year, I have got you something that tops any other gift I've ever got you. I've had it a few weeks now and I'm kinda torn. I want to tell you about it now but then it'll ruin what I've wrapped up for you. I just want you to know that I love you so much and I've fallen so hard for you over the last 5 years" you say to her before snuggling into her. Her arms wrap around you protectively as always. You look up and she has a curious expression on her face. You place a soft kiss on her lips to snap her out of her thoughts.

"It's funny you should say that baby because I've also got you a gift that tops what I have ever got you" Demi replies with a smirk on her face, then starts to giggle. Demi has got you so many amazing gifts so you're excited to set what she has got you. "Imagine if we have got eachother the same thing" Demi cries with laughter causing you to laugh too. She couldn't have got you the same thing and you were 100% sure of it.

You both lay in eachothers arms and talked, kissed and fell asleep as happy as you could be.

Christmas Day
You and Demi are still in eachothers arms when Maddie and Dallas come and wake you both up by jumping on the bed and shouting "It's Christmas!" at the top of their lungs. You wake up and laugh at how excited they are, Demi however is not amused and let's out a groan before moving around to get comfortable again and tries to go back to sleep. You pick up your phone from the bed side table to check the time... 9:30am. Not too early! You turn your attention back to your sleepy girlfriend.

"Deeeeemiiiiiii" you quietly call her name so she doesn't get as mad that she's being woken up again. She groans in response causing you to chuckle and pull her into your arms. "Come on my love, wake up. As much as you look adorable when you sleep, I want you awake to come spend time with me and your family" you try and coax her out of her little dream land. She opens her eyes and they meet with yours in a loving gaze. She smiles up at you before you share your daily morning kiss.

You both make your way downstairs to greet the family after climbing out of bed and doing typical morning stuff. Demi's family do Christmas so nicely. Everyone sits in a big circle and unwraps their presents together while Christmas music is playing in the background to add to the happy atmosphere. You begin to get extremely nervous as the gifts are being passed around. "Guys can I give Demi my gift last? Just it's kinda important" you ask them and get nods in return. "Actually, I wanna make my gift to you the last one of that's okay baby?" Demi asks you. You smile at her and nod to say it's okay.

2 hours passed and it was time for your last gift to give Demi. "Okay Dem, I know I kinda hyped this one up a lot when I was telling you about it last night. It looks small but I promise you, it's really big" you explain to her before handing her a long, thin box. She gently takes the box out of your hand and removes the lid. Inside was a neatly folded bit of tissue paper in a pale yellow colour. She peeled back the tissue paper. Her whole body frose as she looked down into the box. Tears began to fall down her cheeks. "Oh god, what have I done?" You think to yourself which quickly progresses into floods of what ifs.

Demi places the box down in front of her and takes your hands in hers. "Baby? Are you really?" She has a huge smile on her face with tears still flowing. The thing in the box was a pregnancy test that read positive. You knew Demi always wanted a baby and you had talked about that and marriage many times in the past. "Yes baby girl, I am. You're going to be a mother" you say proudly to her. You reach out to cup her face but she grabs yours and crashes her lips against yours. She tastes salty from crying but she was so happy so it didn't phase you.

"I'm so happy baby, you gave me a gift that will keep on giving! Soeaking of gifts that keep on giving though" she grabs a little box, similar to the one you gave her but a lot smaller. She opens the box to reveal a perfect diamond ring. "You're my gift that keeps on giving and now I have 2 of those but I want it to be permanent so... baby, will you marry me?" She asks.

"Of course I'll marry you! I love you so much Demi" you respond. Now it was your turn to cry. She slid the ring on your finger and it fit perfectly and looked amazing and it caught the light. She pulls you into her lap and kisses you sweetly. Her family are all cheering and congratulating you both.

You knew then that everything was going to be okay. You had your wife to be and an unborn child as a Christmas present and you couldn't have asked for anything better.
