Fifteen

THIS CHAPTER IS GORY; IF YOU AREN'T COMFORTABLE WITH IT, KINDLY SKIP :)
The paper was blank; he underestimated the unknown witch; he crumpled the paper in his fist angrily.

He laughed maniacally before throwing his desk to the other side, which made all the papers and documents scattered on the floor. The thunder was striking furiously, testifying to the King's unexplainable rage.

"Zeke!" he yelled, breaking anything breakable inside his office.

Someone was planning on taking his mate, his blessing, his light. He needed to change into his beasts.

He was half-shifted when his beta piped his head inside the destroyed office, "My King," he bowed, craning his neck to show total submission.

"Call a Jade to tell Time and Fate to see me as soon as possible. I've opened the Tosk mirror," he barked out in his beastly voice.

"Someone is playing with fire, harming my mate through a nightmare. A coward is harming my mate. They have forgotten I'm the King of chess. I use anyone or anything I like but never joke with my Queen because I'll destroy the world if anything happens to her," he smirked and strode out, leaving his beta bowing.

He entered the cold cell where the guards were kept to vent his anger.

When he entered, he noticed they were sleeping, and he smirked sinisterly—sleeping when they should be quivering in fear!

"What do we have here," he said slyly, using his claws to scratch both of them, which made them scream in pain. Blood was oozing out from the clawed mark while they held their throbbing cheeks.

"I was thinking of making both of your death quick, but I thought, what is the fun there? Then I thought of making it slow and painful because slow and steady win the race." He walked toward the box where weapons were stored and took a butcher knife while he grinned happily.

He twirled the knife, walking around the cell before throwing it at one of them, which hit his left eye. The man hauled in pain while the second man peed on himself in fear.

"I want you to watch everything I do to him so that you can know what would happen to you," the King yanked the other man's head up to look at his partner. He moved swiftly to the other man and slowly removed the knife before using it to bring out his eyeball. As the man was screaming, the King used the bloodied knife to cut the man's tongue, which fell and danced on the floor.

The second guard's eyes widened in horror and terror. No sound was released from him, his body was shaking vigorously as the King walked toward him with the tongue and eyeball, but the King tsked and went to the box.

"I love three sounds in this life apart from my mate moaning my name in pleasure and her calling my name. I love the sound of cries because it gives me a thrill around my body," he commented.

Zaccheus took some nails and hammers and walked to the second man in predator's way with his bloodied hands. The man breathing was shallow, coming out in short pants. He loved and fed on the fear both criminals were emitting, which was like breathing.

He took a nail and hammered it on the man's little finger, which made the man screamed out in agony. Zaccheus used his magic to throw the eyeball in the man's mouth, which shocked the man. He forced it down the man's throat through his magic. After he was through with nailing the man's fingers, he poured lilac on the man's fixed fingers which made them start reacting by rotting. The man screamed till he passed out from the pain.

The King felt a presence in his mind wanting to mind link him; he allowed it and waited for the person to talk, "What?" he asked, feeling irritated for being disturbed from his work.

"A woman is seeking for you at the territory," his gamma spoke worriedly.

"Who is she?" he asked, walking out of the cell with an annoying look.

He wasn't satisfied.

"She didn't say a name," his third in command replied.

"Let her come in," he ordered before going to his room to change.

After he was done bathing, he checked on his mate and saw that she was still asleep; he smiled before pecking her.

He entered his office and noticed everything had been repaired as if it wasn't damaged some hours ago.

The door to his office was knocked, and he permitted them, "My King," they all bowed while he grunted. What is so important that makes them interrupt him, he wondered.

"My liege," a petite pale lady walked forward with her head bowed. Her body and soul screamed, shattered.

"Who are you?" The King asked while he mind-linked others to leave them alone.

"Oracle sent me," she replied, still with her head down.

"What did Oracle say?" he inquired.

"She said I should congratulate you about finding your mate and warn you," The King raised his brows after hearing it.

"What warning?"

"A war is coming. It comes like a storm. You don't know when but be prepared for it because it shall determine the end of this realm." She stated.

"War?"

"Yes, my liege, war that would destroy everything."

"How would it destroy everything?"

"I don't know, but Oracle said I should tell you that it all started with your mate, and it shall end on her."

"Okay, and she said don't ever forget the prophecy, for it is coming to true. Sooner or later, but always be prepared and do make the ritual with your mate soon as possible." She added and rosed to her feet with her head still bowing.

"What's your name?" The King asked again when he saw her eyes were sliver with no pupils.

"My name is not important, but always remember what I say. Don't forget," she advised. "And take your enemy close but your friend closer," she whispered, but the King heard her.

"What do you mean?"

"It means someone in...., " and the window shattered on the floor with an arrow being thrown vertically and met the Oracle's messenger at her chest, which made her become ashes immediately.
