Eighteen

"It was impossible for him to find his mate because, one, it's never written in his destiny," Destiny smiled widely, "Two, even though if destiny was tampered with, it is not yet time," Time added, playing with his hem, "and third if he ever found his mate, I would have known because I'm the one who brings souls together and I would have to congratulate him." Fate concluded. The King's brows knitted in confusion as Alec furrowed his brow while caressing his beard in thought. How was it possible? If it was not written, then why was he blessed with a mate?

"You mean I was not destined with a mate?" the King asked slowly while he felt his heart shattered. Why was he always left behind in everything? He waited for one thousand years before he was blessed with one. His father and pack rejected him. He was always an outcast! Even though the goddess hated him for not giving him a mate but he did care because whether he had a mate or not! He would never let Nadazhda go because his soul had intertwined with hers and had recognised her as his. No one could take her away from him!

"Yeah," they replied in unison.

"But I feel all the connections with her; every time I'm with her, I always feel at home," the King defended, staring at Alec to say something, but he didn't react except with his breathing sound.

"You are all wrong; she is mine!" The King growled, feeling his fangs protruding out, beasts wanting to be released to claim what was theirs. "She is destined to be mine; she's my Queen and your Luna!" The triplet staggered on their seats, feeling choked by unknown energy as the wave of fury from the King walloped them, making them crumble on the ground, wailing in pain. The thunder was striking furiously, testifying to the King's wrath. They bowed submissively to him because he wasn't the one in control; it was his beasts. His eyes were golden in colour as he took menacing steps toward the shaking triplets.

"King Xakoushi," Alec called the King's beasts softly, craning his neck in submission because he knew it wasn't the boy he called son but a King that deemed absolute authority. "Please do think of your mate. I think she would be worried wherever she is now because of the thunderstorm," he felt the tension leaving Zaccheus slowly as he sighed, murmuring a silent prayer to whoever could answer his prayer. His mate could trigger him off and could ease him.

Zaccheus's fang retracted slowly while his normal blue colour showed, but the golden ring was there. The thunder stopped immediately as he ran his hand through his hair, frustrated.

"Be seated," the King commanded as the triplet fumbled to stand still, shaking from the aftermath and scouted their seat far away from the King.

"You said it was not written in his destiny to be mated?" Alec asked slowly, not wanting to trigger the King again. The three nodded frantically; their face was slightly pale in terror at what had happened. They always heard the rumours or news of the King's fury, but they never witnessed one except this, and it had shaken them to the core.

"Fate can't be influenced but can be delayed or hastened, yet destiny can be influenced due to some actions, and because of that, the time of some decisions or matters will change due to the influence of destiny, right?" Alec started his statement with a question while they nodded again.

" So... That means the destiny has been influenced by some actions which change the time of what was supposed to happen and make fate hasten," Alec added, which made the triplet's eyes widen with the horror of what would happen to them.

"Some actions..." Destiny mumbled in a shaky voice.

"By who?" Time asked slowly.

"By someone who wanted the King dead," Fate blurted out before using his hands to clamp his mouth shut as the King scrutinised his gaze on them.

"Meaning?" the King seethed while they visibly gulped.

"Ca_an we me_eet th_eee Qu_eeen," they stuttered.

"Why?" he raised his brows tauntingly, which made them squirm on the seat.

"Eh," Alec interrupted as he noticed the King feeding on their fear. At the sound, the King tilted his head to Alec, who looked calm with everything happening. "I think we should let them see her so that they can know because we don't know who is the mastermind of all these." he reasoned with the King.

"You can't always be there to protect her..." the King banged his fist on the table, interrupting Alec's statement, "I'll always be there to protect her!" The King snarled while Alec smiled.

"I know, son, but we have to be careful because it's better to be saved than to be sorry," he stated.

"Did she know about the supernatural worlds?"

"No, I only tell her about me, but I think she would guess because she had visited the Azubu realm," The King responded awkwardly.

"What!" the triplet yelled, "No one visit there and still be alive."

"Then how?"

"Because everything has been influenced," Alec responded, "The person is either a hybrid of dark witch and demon or has a dark witch help," he concluded.

"So now, I'll say you should mark and mate her quick because we never know when the enemy will strike."

"Mark her! she would be scared."

"No, she wouldn't. She would be happy to be yours."

"Happy, you say?" the King mocked, "The first day I showed her my form, she fainted! And if I tell her about marking and mating, she would run over heel."

"She trusted you. That was why she asked for your form." Destiny chirped from where she was, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Mark and mate her as soon as possible, then the supernatural beings will be compiled to protect her because she's their leader, except those who have sworn leadership to another," Alec added before walking to the king and patting him at the back slowly.

"Please do make it soon."

"OK," he responded before turning his gaze at the three devils, "Destiny, your work is to protect her by becoming her friend so that she won't notice." the King ordered while she stood, bowed to him before dancing around.

"Time, you should always take in your spectra form. She mustn't see you. And fate, you are also her bodyguard." The King declared, and the three of them knelt and bowed

"We heard and obeyed."
