Twenty-two

Weeks had passed since she’d been introduced to the supernatural world. She found it cool because it looked attractive to her. She only hoped she wasn’t going crazy with everything evolving around her.

Zaccheus explained why he needed to mate and Mark her soon because if anything happened to her, he would be able to feel or know.

He told her that before mating and marking could take place, she would be introduced to the pack, she would pledge her loyalty, and they would also pledge their loyalty to her because it was sacred and tradition. After the introduction, then hunting. He would chase her in his beasts form to claim his mate.

Nadazhda felt giddy and happy and couldn’t wait for the chase, even though she was afraid to face thousands of people.

He said not all supernatural would be able to come due to the distance, but their leaders would be presented that day, but she couldn’t wait to meet the mermaid’s leader.

He told her about the different kinds of supernatural beings with power and rank. He was the King of all supernatural beings. His wolf- Ryl, was the alpha king, the King of wolves, while she - was the Luna Queen. His vampire - Ryk, was the King of all vampires because he was pureblood and a royal. His demon- Ryn, was the heir to the throne in hell, and his grandfather Lucifer was still in his regime. At the same time, he knew some tricks in magic because his mother was a white witch.

Alec was a vampire lord who worked with his grandfather. Zeke was a hybrid - a wolf demon, while his mate Avivit was a powerful white witch.

Nadazhda knew Rina was a fae, and the triplet was another case. They were either supernatural or...

Nadazhda and Zaccheus had been clinging to each other since he told her she was his mate, stealing kisses and making out only to be interrupted by Rina, which made him look grumpy.

“Bareea, what are you still doing?” Nadazhda heard Rina’s worried voice, which snapped her out of her thoughts.

“Oh sorry, I’ll be out now,” she replied, washing the foamy lather from her body. She’d forgotten she was in the shower having a quick bath only to have a deep thought.

Nadazhda walked out, using a towel to dry her hair, and went to the closet for a simple dress. Zaccheus came earlier looking nervous, unsure and excited, asking whether he could take her to a place today.

First, she was shocked to see him nervous because all she’d heard about him was the opposite of what he was doing now. When he noticed she was not replying, his happy face crumbled, and he looked insecure, vulnerable and sad. He turned his back to take his leave while his back was hunched in disappointment. She ran after him and took his hand, smiling softly at him, “I’ll like to go,” she replied, and his face lit up like a child given his favourite gift.

“What should I put on?” Nadazhda asked him as he used his hand to scratch his back awkwardly.

“Put on the blue dress. It looks good on you,” he said slowly, unsure of himself as she wanted to reply; he interrupted her immediately, “you can put on anything. It will look good on you” he sputtered while a smile danced on her lips.

Nadazhda stared at him and saw his ears turning red in embarrassment. She was shocked!

“Are you blushing?” she wiggled her brow at him as she laughed shakily.

“It’s okay,” she replied, moving closer to him. She tipped her toes and pecked his cheek as the redness spread over his face. Nadazhda looked down at his bulge, smiling at her accomplishment as she swayed her hips teasingly to dress up.

What’s wrong with me? Where is the confidence coming from? She thought.

“Quit daydreaming!” Rina’s voice snapped out of her thoughts again. She’d been going in and out of her thoughts lately.

“Go sit there. I’ll pick the dress,” She pushed her away.

“Pick a blue dress for me,” Nadazhda said as she went to take the hairdryer to dry and set her hair.

Rina came out with a v-neck floral blue gown which was adorned with pearls on with a furlike scarf. “Don’t touch your hair. I’m doing it for you,” she put the dress on the bed.

She put her hair in a French braid, styling the front strands that fall over her scalp’s front, which covered her forehead to the fringe (bangs).

“Cover your eyes, Bareea,” she ordered softly, holding the makeup kits.

After she was through with turning and painting her face, she told her to open her eyes.

Nadazhda’s eyes stared at the person in the mirror, who was also staring at her in awe. The person was different from her, she was a plain girl, but the lady in the mirror looked mature, beautiful and elegant.

Rina flew to her, fluttering her tiny wings, happy at her work, “I’m the best makeup artist. He will lose his mind today,” she said sly as she put on her shoe for her.

“Thank you, Rina.” her eyes glistened with tears as she shook her head.

“Don’t spoil my work. Let him be the one to spoil it,” she teased.

“Now, final touch.”

“What?” she glared at her.

“Glimmer!” she chirped softly as Nadazhda felt some tiny light sprinkle on her.

“Now, go don’t make the poor man wait any longer,” she pushed her out of the door only to meet a worried Zaccheus parading the door. When he saw her he sighed before pulling her into a hug.

His breath was tickling her neck as he was breathing in her scent. After some minutes, he released her slowly as he stared at her face with love and longing before he brought his lips to hers.

“You are beautiful,” his voice was husky with needs and longing, but sincerity could be detected in his voice.

Nadazhda smiled shyly, looking away from the intensity of his gaze, “You look yummy,” her eyes widened in mortification.

Can someone be Yummy? She mentally screeched.

Yes, yummy to lick, to suck and..., the naughty brain of mine replied while she literally agape her mouth.

Lick?

Suck?

Holy pepperoni of pizza!

“Let’s go,” he said, touching her cheeks adoringly.

“Mate, you are gorgeous,” Nadazhda heard Ryl’s gentle voice in her head as she blushed furiously. Her small heart couldn’t take many compliments.

“All mine,” Ryn’s deep voice said with possessiveness.

“Mate, I can’t wait to ravish what is under all these clothes,” Ryk said sensually, making her stomach flip in anticipation of what was to come.

“You are driving us crazy,” they said in unison.

Nadazhda gulped nervously, feeling hot all over her body even though my dress was armless.

“Where are we going?” she asked in a small exciting voice.

“It’s a surprise, love.”
