Stream of past

Long time no see...Sasuke

Three days later Sakura was lying in her bed in the new apartment. She was talking to Katsuyu about what happened in the past days. She wasn't lying when she said the slug was a licensed therapist and a damn good one two. It helped her a lot to talk to someone who knew her future-past. Apparently the time travel affected her too, as they had an unbreakable bond that traverses space and time, in the slug's own words.

"Thank you, for listening Lady Katsuyu." said Sakura.

"Oh, but of course my dear. You know I will always be here for you." said Katsuyu, from her place on the nightstand. "Although I'm afraid I must tell you something else." 

"What is it?"

"Oh my dear, I am so sorry I did not tell you this sooner, but Lady Tsunade told me to only tell you if you managed to keep Sasuke-kun from getting the curse mark. And you succeeded, which I am very proud of you for achieving. I wanted to tell you afterwards, but you were busy with the third round and then with your parents...I didn't wish to saddle you with another burden so soon, but alas I have delayed it long enough...Sakura my dear, Itachi Uchiha is innocent."

"What?!"

"It's true. Lady Tsunade found a scroll in the archive, detailing a mission. He was ordered to kill his own clan."

"WHAT?! By who?!"

"That, I do not know. The scroll didn't say and Lady Tsunade didn't have enough time to find out, with Pain's attack."

"Do you think it was the Sandaime? I mean sure, the council has a lot of power in village matters, but I doubt they would be able to order such a thing. Only the Hokage could have..."

"It is a possibility. Like I said I do not know, Sakura."

Sakura hummed. "It had to be the Third, nothing else makes sense. Thank you for telling me Lady Katsuyu, you've given me a lot to think about."

"I understand my dear. I truly wish I didn't have to add on to your burdens like this, but alas I had no choice."

Sakura smiled and softly pet the tiny slug on her head with a finger. "It's alright Lady Katsuyu, it is not your fault the Third was secretly a horrible person. Although this does change a lot of things...I need to scrap and rethink all of my plans."

The slug nodded. "Yes, that is understandable my dear. But please don't push yourself too hard and remember, you still need to sleep." 

Sakura laughed. "Understood lady Katsuyu. I'll try my best to remember." and with that the slug went away with a puff of smoke. Sakura put her head in her hands.

What the fuck am I supposed to tell Sasuke...

Sasuke jolted awake in his bed. His Sharingan activated on instinct. He heard a knock on his bedroom window and looked in that direction to find a familiar chakra signature. What is Sakura doing here at...3 in the morning?

He pushed his drapes aside and opened his window to let her in. She jumped inside and landed next to his bed.

"Hey."

"Hi." said Sasuke, a bit confused to see her here. "Is everything alright, Sakura?"

"I...No. Everything is not alright. Come sit down, I need to tell you something." Once they were both seated on the edge of his bed, Sakura continued. "Sasuke, remember how in the Forest of Death, I told you and Naruto how I know some things that I shouldn't know about?" 

"Yeah...You still haven't told us how or what you know."

"And I still can't. At least not everything. But I got...clearance, let's call it, to tell you something."

"Well, what is it?"

Sakura took a deep breath. "Itachi is innocent, Sasuke." The Uchiha's eyes widened and he opened his mouth to say something but Sakura didn't let him. "He was ordered to murder your clan. By the Sandaime, more exactly. I do not know why he ordered it or how he could do such a thing, but your brother didn't have a choice, Sasuke. He-"

"Shut your mouth."

"Sasuke..."

"No. Shut your fucking mouth Sakura. Are you even realizing what you're implying here? What you're saying even means? That what, my own brother killed every. Single. Person. That I cared about because the Third didn't like them? That he was so loyal he killed our parents because he was told to? Are you out of your mind?"

"Yes! If that's what makes you believe me, then yes. I am out of my mind, because that's what happened!"

"HE FUCKING TORTURED ME WITH GENJUTSU! I had to watch my parents die over and over and over and over and over and over, over again, all for his own sick satisfaction..."

"Sasuke..." Sakura tried to put her arm on his shoulder but he caught her wrist. His grip was bruising.

"Leave."

"Wha-"

"Leave. I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!" His Sharingan was spinning wildly and Sakura trembled under his gaze. He looked so much like the Sasuke of her before. So Sakura did the only thing she could do, she ran.

Sasuke ran all around the town where Naruto and Jiraiya were supposedly in. This morning he went to Kakashi's apartment to talk about what he had learned the night before. Instead he found his sensei bedridden. It was a string of luck that he learned Itachi was behind this and to make matters worse, he was after Naruto. There was no way in hell he was allowing his brother take another one of his precious people from him. Also it might be his only chance to talk to him, to see if what Sakura said was true. After he learned what inn they were staying at, he ran inside only to find Itachi and a blue skinned man with a huge sword right in front of Naruto.

"Long time no see...Sasuke."
