"Huh..." was all Shisui could say.

"Huh? That's all you have to say?!" said Sasuke, but quickly quieted down as Sakura glared at him.

"What else could I say, according to my memories I am an orphan from Otto, but clearly that is false. Perhaps I am a clone...I certainly know that Orochimaru is studying making those."

Before Sakura could say anything, Itachi stepped forward. "Crow-san, I understand that this is confusing, but please, allow me to explain. Your name is Shisui Uchiha, you were born on the 19th of October to Kimiko and Syuuto Uchiha, your favourite food is fried salmon and you are lactose intolerant. You graduated the academy at 7 years old and you became my best friend when I was 5. When you were older, you spied on the Uchiha clan for the Hokage in order to prevent a coup, you had a plan to end the dispute without bloodshed, but Danzo prevented you from enacting it and tried to kill you. You tried to sacrifice your life so that I may gain the Mangekyō Sharingan by jumping from a waterfall near the Naka river.

But you...you survived, something that I will always be eternally grateful for...One of Orochimaru's spies, Kabuto Yakushi, found you passed out on the shore, extracted the poison coursing through your veins, healed you and sent you to Otto to be experimented on. I cannot imagine what horrors you must have gone through in there and I apologize..." he began to sob. "For not being there to help you...This went on for years, until Danzo, that scum, found out and tried to use your body as an infinitely regenerating Mangekyō Sharingan farm. The experiments to regrow your eyes failed and you were abandoned until Orochimaru sent you to ROOT to spy on Konoha. You acted as a double agent until Danzo's death." Looking into Shisui's eyes, Itachi saw that nothing had changed in his expression, the same blank mask stared back at him. He kneeled in front of the amnesiac and looked up at him with tears in his eyes.

"Y-you, you love birds and c-cats, you had two as child, Miso and Chasu. You hate strawberries for reasons that I never understood and your favourite book is "The Five-Storied Pagoda", your favourite author however is Aya Uzumaki, you...you..." He cupped Shisui's cheek. "You are my best and only friend in this world and if I have one regret in this life, it was not being able to save you."

The entire time Shisui remained stone faced as the younger Uchiha cried. Seeing his brother in distress, Sasuke knelt neared him and pulled him away from his amnesiac best friend. He sent Sakura a look and led him outside to hopefully comfort him and calm down.

And so, there were two left. "He's very...sentimental..." said Shisui. "Danzo-sama would not have approved of that."

Sakura sighed. "Yes well, there are many things that makes us human that Danzo would not have approved of. But what he says is true, and while you might not remember it, we both know that the extensive files that Danzo kept do not lie. You are Shisui Uchiha."

"Understood. So what am I to do now? I very clearly do not remember anything that Itachi Uchiha-san said, nor do I think I can mimic who I was accurately enough to appease him. Infiltration was not my best quality in ROOT you see."

"You will not have to pretend to be anything that you aren't, Crow. I will examine your head and see if your memories are recoverable."

"And if they are not?"

"Then he will have to live with it."

...

Meanwhile, in the hallway, Itachi was curled up with his head in his knees, crying silently, Sasuke had his arms around him, offering his silent support.
