The Fox and the Hyūga

After meeting with Genma and telling him that Naruto made it for his match, Karin and Sakura escorted the blonde to waiting room no. 1 so he can prepare for his match against Neji. The two girls wished him luck before making their way to their assigned seats. Once the clock hit twelve the Hokage and Kazekage appeared in their special little observation point and each delivered a speech. After that Genma appeared in the arena and announced the first match. 

Both Naruto and Neji entered the arena from their respective gates and walked until they were standing in front of each other. They both glared at each other as the proctor reminded them the rules.

"You've got anything to say to me?" taunted Neji.

Naruto showed his fist to Neji as he glared harder. "Only what I told you the last time..."

The proctor raised his hand "Let the first match..." before bringing it down "...Begin!" and then he shunshined away. The crowd was in uproar as the first match began. Naruto started by throwing 3 kunais at Neji, two of them he deflected the third he caught between 2 fingers. After that Naruto ran at the Hyūga and tried to punch him but Neji used his palm to deflect his fist and push him away. Naruto backflipped away before running back at the Hyūga to punch him again. This time after Neji dodged the fist aimed at his face, he used a Gentle Fist on Naruto's abdomen. Naruto got pushed away and fell on the ground. He glared at Neji as he clutched at his chest.

"You have no way of beating me." said Neji. 

Naruto merely smirked as he got up and used Shadow Clone Jutsu. Four clones popped into existence next to the blonde and all of them whipped out a kunai. Then the 4 clones charged at Neji. The first 2 he simply dodged by using them as stepping stools, the last 2 he simply caught their armed hands and forcefully redirected them away. The Hyūga managed to scatter them slightly, but one of them charged at him and aimed a kick at his jaw. He skilfully avoided the attack and backflipped away from the Shadow Clone. Two clones charged at him but he jumped into the air and rotated in order to kick them both on the head. They both poofed away. The remaining two charged at him with their kunais raised but they were merely Gentle Fist-ed away. After all of the clones were poofed, Naruto created what can be considered a whole battalion of Shadow Clones.

Together all of the clones charged at him and he got locked into hand to hand combat with them. He managed to poof away several before he started going to one specific blonde. He believed that he had just managed to pinpoint the real Naruto. He tapped his shoulder with his fingers only for the blonde to poof away. Then the remaining clones jumped at him but he dispersed them with Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven. A perfectly round hole remained in the ground once the attack was over. The blonde made 6 more clones and together they circled Neji from all sides. They all tried to attack him at the same time but Neji merely blew them away with his Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven. Then he found the real Naruto after all of the clones were poofed. He mercilessly pummeled him and attacked all of his chakra points, shutting down as many as he could. 

"Just give up! It's pointless, you'll never defeat me." said Neji.

"Don't listen to him Naruto! I believe in you!" yelled Karin.

"Kick his ass Naruto! Send him back to the Hyūga Compound crying!" yelled Sakura.

Naruto grit his teeth and got up from where he had fallen. He put his hands in the ram seal and started drawing chakra from the Nine-Tails. His bruises and scratches started healing as well. Once he had enough chakra, he jumped in the air. Neji noted that he was much after than before as he had to use Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven just to deflect 3 shuriken. Then Naruto jumped at him so fast he barely had time to react. They engaged in a bit of hand to hand combat before they both jumped away from each other. Naruto started running at him and as he did so, the ground cracked underneath his feet.

"It may be the Hyūga way to cave into destiny but it's not mine!" yelled Naruto as he neared Neji. "You think it's futile to fight but don't just stand there and take it!" Neji prepared to use rotation as Naruto got closer and closer. "I'll change the way of the Hyūga clan when I become Hokage!"

Naruto's chakra filled attack collided with the Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven and the resulting explosion left the crowd shocked. Nobody could see past the dust cloud. They all waited with bated breath for it to clear.

When it did there were 2 holes in the ground. Slowly, a battered and bruised Neji got out of his whole and started walking towards the other. When he neared it he saw that it contained an unconscious Naruto. Suddenly, a fist appeared from underground and socked Neji the jaw. Neji spit blood as his head flew backwards from the force of the punch. The unconscious Naruto poofed away to reveal a hole underneath it. Neji fell on his back and didn't get up this time.

Naruto walked towards the fallen Neji and started talking. "My clones were pathetic, that's right I fucked up the clone jutsu every time. But I learned and got better. You can do it too, cuz unlike me, you're not a failure."

"The winner is...Naruto Uzumaki." said Genma. The crowd started cheering for the blonde. Once Naruto returned to his seat, Karin and Sakura rushed in to hug him and congratulate him on his win.

"Naruto that was amazing. I don't I ever saw you plan a better strategy! Good job." exclaimed Sakura.

"I was really worried when I saw you unconscious but I'm glad it worked out!" said Karin.

"He he, thanks guys. It was kinda hard to dig that tunnel with my bare hand, my nails are busted." said Naruto.

"Here. I have my emergency kit on me, I can disinfect your wounds, but I can't heal them until after my match. Sorry." said Sakura as she started cleaning his blistered hands.

"Actually I can heal you." said Karin as she rolled up her sleeve. "Just bite my wrist."

Naruto and Sakura shared a concerned glance. They both knew the trauma Karin had related her healing capabilities.

"Are you sure Karin? You know you don't have to if you feel uncomfortable." said Sakura.

"Yeah Kar-chan. I can wait a few hours for Sakura-chan, after all I'm as tough as they come." said Naruto.

"I'm sure, all my life I've been healing people without consent. But now it's different, I want to heal, I want to help. So...please let me!" said Karin.

Naruto and Sakura smiled warmly at the redhead. "Alright then, I won't stop you." said Sakura as Naruto went to get healed. He bit Karin's wrist and waited until his hands were healed before releasing her.

"Thanks Kar-chan, I feel much better now!"

Karin smiled warmly. "Glad I could help."
