Jada~
"Oh, I just love you so much," I say quietly as I bring Adelaine closer to me and kiss her cheek a bunch of times.
"Dad will be home soon."
I lay her down gently so I can swaddle her in a blanket. After she's swaddled, I hold her in my arms and walk to one of the guest rooms where Camille has her things.
She's actually been sleeping in our bed with me to help during the night but since Christian is coming back tonight, I'm sure he wouldn't love sharing the bed with us.
I knock before pushing the door open. She's sitting on the floor packing her suitcase. I sit by the headboard so I have something to support us.
"I really appreciate you coming out. You've been a lot of help the past few nights."
"I knew you would need the help even with Alecia being here. I figured you wouldn't ask me to come out here so I talked to Christian beforehand."
"Yeah, I wouldn't have asked."
She laughs, "I know. I would love to stay longer but I have to get back to my boys."
"Oh, I'm sure Corey is miserable without you."
"He has told me at least three times that he misses me. I'm just glad my parents were able to come out and watch Weston while Corey is at the field."
"They'd do anything for their grandson."
She continues to pack her things, "When do you need to be at the airport?"
"I think by noon."
I take my phone out of my pocket as it was buzzing.
Christian<3: Just landed!
Me: Your mom is already at the park waiting for you! We can't wait until you're home"Christian just landed."
"Good. I hate that they only get three days to spend with their newborn baby. It's not that fair to us."
"I wish they would give them a week off. Not just for me but for her. Obviously, he held her as much as he could while he was here but I know it wasn't as much as he wanted it to be. He had to race up here from Chicago just for me to be in labor for nine hours."
"I think that's why I'm so unsure about having another because we got lucky and Wes was born during spring training. Corey wasn't traveling super far or at all."
"Do you want another?"
"I don't know. Corey does. I'm on the fence. I think it'd be cool to give Wes a sibling but we just love him so much and he occupies so much of our life that I'm content with just him."
"We always said three but that's looking a bit unrealistic. I want at least two years between her and this next child."
"And we always said that too. After he was two, we said we would come back to it but we never have."
"I mean, he's pretty content by himself. I think there are benefits to both sides."
"Definitely."
I lay my head back on the pillow against our headboard as I sit in our bed feeding Adelaine. I close my eyes as she suckles.
"Getting some shut-eye?" Christian asks.
I had to have dozed off a little bit since I didn't hear him at all downstairs. "Yeah," I say quietly.
He kisses me before sitting on the edge of our bed. "How have things been?"
