Jada~

"How was Milwaukee?" Camille asks me.

"It was uneventful."

"In a good way?"

"Yeah. I spent the night and went to his game the next day. We hung out before he took me to his game."

"What does hang out mean?"

"Talked. We walked around downtown. He made us breakfast."

"Talk about what?"

"Nothing important. Just catching each other up. I'm learning the small and weird details about him. That he only sleeps on the left side of the bed. Or that he can listen to any kind of music and know the song. Or that while we slept, he had to be touching some part of me."

"What weird, small details do you know about Cody?"

"He makes the best iced coffee. Cody is more openly flirty with me all the time. But he's subtle about it. He hates driving on the 405 no matter what time of day it is, although most of us do. He's sweet and kind. Camille, I've never been treated so well before by two guys. I think that's why I can't pick. I want to. But I genuinely don't know who I would pick. They're both great guys who play freaking baseball for a living. They both know I have some dark and twisty stuff in my head. They respect me. The only problem is that Christian lives in Milwaukee right now. He lives in Malibu during the off-season. Cody lives here right now but lives in Scottsdale in the winter."

"Spend more time with Cody now and then spend time with Christian while he's out here."

"How does that make things easier?"

"It doesn't. But I can tell you really like both of them. It wouldn't hurt to try."

I just nod as I put my suitcase back in my closet. "Who's better in bed?"

"Seriously?"

"What, I want to know."

"Cody and I haven't gone there yet so I don't know."

"Seriously?"

"Yes, I'm being serious."

"Hm. I expected more from him."

I park in Cody's driveway not knowing if he's home. It's an off day so I assume he is but I'm not sure. I lock my car and head to his front door.

I knock on his door a few times. I stand there for a few minutes before taking a few steps back toward my car. Okay, I guess I won't see him today.

"Jada?"

I turn and see him standing at the door. "Hi."

He opens the screen door, "I was out back. Come in."

He hugs me after I walked into his house. "What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to come see you."

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah. I feel like I haven't seen you in a while."

I saw him a few days after I got back from Chicago but then he was on the road again. So I haven't been able to see him since then. "I was just going to relax in the pool."

I follow him outside and sit on one of the chairs. "You have one of your suits here in my drawer if you want to get in."

"Do you want me to get in?"

"Duh."

I didn't plan on washing my hair today but I guess I will be. I go inside and go to his room. I pull on the drawer that he has my stuff in. One day he wanted one item of everything from my closet so he could have some in case I stay over and I forgot clothes.
