3rd person POV

Amanda ran out of the dinner leaving her mother behind. Tears streamed down her face, she didn't know how to feel anymore. She kept walking towards the parking lot when she collided with someone.

The man she collided with had a  coffee in his hand which spilled on both of them. The man held Amanda's waist keeping her steady so she couldn't fall.

Amanda looked up at the man and quickly backed away, she wiped her tears.

"Ethan what are you doing here," Amanda asked.

"Uh, I came here for business, I just slipped away for some coffee. What are you doing here and why are you crying" Ethan asked.

He cupped Amanda's cheek and wiped her tears, Amanda quickly shoved his hand away.

"It's nothing, I'm sorry about spilling your drink. I'll buy you a new drink and get your suit cleaned" Amanda assured.

"There is a hotel nearby, why don't we go wash up" Ethan suggested with a warm smile.

Amanda felt uneasy.

"No my driver is just around the corner, I'll wash up home" Amanda lied.

She had in fact come by taxi because she didn't want Zack to find out she met with her mother that day.

She then started walking away from Ethan. Ethan started to panic and stood in front of her.

"I didn't mean anything by it, please I'd feel bad letting you go like this plus you seem like you need a friend at the moment" Ethan urged.

Amanda thought about it for a second, people were already staring at the stains on their clothes, she sighed.

"The building next door over there is the closest hotel, let's just use that one" Amanda ordered.

Ethan agreed and the pair went to the hotel Amanda decided on, Amanda booked two separate rooms for them.

"Don't you think it's too much, booking two rooms just so we can clean up, we could have used the same room, I don't mind" Ethan commented as they walked to the elevator.

"But I do mind and why are you complaining, I'm shouldering the expenses not so," Amanda remarked.

Ethan laughed.

"Oh come on, why do you mind? It's not like this is the first time we—" Amanda abruptly stopped walking cutting Ethan off.

"Ethan, I already told you to stop talking about the past, we are over and we are not getting back together. You said you wanted to remain friends so don't start pressuring me by talking about the past or even this friendship will end" Amanda explained slowly.

Ethan's hands clenched, and his eye twitched. He felt insulted, how dare a mere woman treat him like that, Hunter had managed to tame her so easily, she was willing to do anything for him but why was it taking so long for him to tame her?

"I thought you said you'd think about it once again" he commented trying to hide his anger.

"I'm sorry"Amanda apologized.

She continued walking, and Ethan just followed behind her.

"Where have you been all this while, I was worried you know," Ethan asked.

"Business trip" was Amanda's reply.

"To where. Why did only you and Zack go and what are you doing here" he asked.

"Uh we've been visiting several branches of H&Z, I can't really disclose company secrets now can I"

They got into the elevator and pressed the floor they were going to, the ride was silent. When the doors opened Amanda rushed to the room she booked for herself.
