Part V - The Greater Good

Previously...

Disguised again as Sarah, Lili's chamber maid, Oona unleashes vengeance upon Darkness and Lili, by attempting to poison Lili in hopes to kill her so Darkness will lose her to the afterlife.

Before Lili can be poisoned, Jack intervenes and fights off Oona's assault. As retaliation, Oona attempts to break the life giving spell shared between Jack and Lili, planting Jack with memories in hopes to destroy his immortal life.

Through a series of flashbacks, Jack learns that he when he was a small child he witnessed his father's death by Darkness' hand.

The realisation, and forced memories, bring him to ruin until Lili rescues him, reminding his sprite soul of the reality he lives in now and quelling the affects of Oona's curse over him.

Will Jack regain his memory or will Darkness' plan to corrupt Jack and Lili lead to their ultimate demise..?

Part V

Jack wakes to find himself laying upon Lili's bed, weary, yet lucid.

He tries to sit up, but is quickly and gently laid back down by Lili's delicate hands and Gump's vigilant voice...

"Easy, Jack. You're still frail. Oona's curse is stronger now that she is an agent of Darkness." Gump cautions, as Lili gently strokes Jack's hair and plants a soothing kiss upon his forehead.

Jack looks up at Lili and cups her face, tender with his own concern burned behind his eyes,

"She tried to kill you... I could feel your fear and her rage all at once."

Lili takes his hand into hers and kisses the back of it, pacifying his anxiety, "You saved me just in time. Are you okay..?"

Jack smiles and draws her into an embrace, encouraging Lili to lay down beside him, as he cradles her in his arms,

"I am. You saved me just in time, too. I don't know what was happening to me? The things I saw, it felt familiar, but... It couldn't be my life..? I'm a sprite, evermore and always, am I not?"

Jack begins to panic as confusion ignites a surge of pain to engulf his body once more.

Frightened Lili jumps back, "Gump-! Do something!" She pleads.

Gump takes a sprinkle of fairy dust and places Jack under a sleeping spell. As the dust touches Jack's head, he becomes calm and his body relaxes, as wave of sleep overtakes him.

"He'll be fine, for now." Gump turns to to King Roland, sitting upon an armchair, worry forcing him to bury his head in his hands.

"It's time Lili knew of the prophecy, Roland." Gump professes.

King Roland lifts his head, then stands from his seat, furious yet keeps his voice to a hush, should he wake Jack,

"You don't have the decency to consult me first? You give me no choice but to reveal it now, Lili stands right before me!"

Lili steps between Gump and her father, hands open to compromise,

"I know of the prophecy. You spoke of it when we met at Nell's... Father, you have no need to fear me knowing."

Perplexed, King Roland, presses Gump, " You... you told her? Then, why say..?"

"She only knows a version of the truth, not the truth itself." Gump replies.

Lili sits upon her bed beside Jack, accusation marking her face,
" What more is there? Was it a lie that Jack could return Valtoria to light?"

Gump hangs his head, ashamed. "No, but it was only part. Lili... it was all foretold... all planned. You and Jack, you were destined to meet so that the prophecy would go into affect."
