Faye grabbed Robin's shoulders also, and both girls stood catching their breath for a minute. Once they both had calmed down, they let each other go, and Robin pulled the poster back out. "I guess we'll have to walk until we see the street sign...." she sighed, and Faye nodded. They started down the road walking farther from any sense of urban society or any living thing other than mice. Faye pulled a compass out of her pocket. "We're headed southeast," she claimed, keeping her voice low. Robin nodded, then turned her head to Faye quickly. "Wait, where did you get a compass?" she questioned. "Some sales guy on the sidewalk was selling knick-knacks. We have so much money now, so it seemed like a good purchase for our adventure." Faye shimmied her hands to emphasize 'adventure.' Robin shrugged, "It's not the worst purchase you could've made..." she huffed.
Faye stopped abruptly; Robin was still facing her as she walked, and she paused, mimicking Faye. "What?" Robin asked as she slowly turned her head to face forward. Upon noticing the scenery ahead of her, she took a few steps back; her face frozen in shock. A barren wasteland of dusty and spiked rocks sticking out of the ground lay ahead. Snow fluttered down and melted the second it hit the dust. "This was a bad idea...." Faye stated abruptly, "We need to go back" she tried to turn back, but Robin stopped her. "Come on! This place is creepy, but I have been through too much to pass up such an obvious opportunity to get home!" she proclaimed.
Faye shook her head. "Im not scared because it looks terrifying, im scared because I know this place. Everyone does. This is the dead district." Faye's voice shook as she said its name, the same reaction she had talking about the harborers in the elf forest. "We can find another way to get you home. Let's go!" Faye demanded as she grabbed Robin's arm to pull her back the way they came. Robin pulled out of Faye's grasp. "You can go back, but im finding this place," she stated with certainty as she pointed to the address on the poster. She began quickly walking into the dead district as Faye stood on the road glaring at her. Faye began to argue with herself, "I should go with her," she thought. "No, going with her is like a death wish," she argued back to herself, "but she's your friend," she continued, "She has been your friend for like five days," Faye groaned and flung her arms a little. "Fine!" she yelled abruptly, then rushed in Robin's direction.
