Kate introduces Desmond to the others. "That is Erika, that Lydia, here is Mai, Itsuki, here we have Viktoria and Jacky, William and last but not least Lila! I think you fit just right in! Now we're 10 people here!" She was so excited. Desmond looked at everyone. He has never seen them before but he had heard of Erika and Lydia on Tv. "Hello everyone. My name is Desmond, like Kate already said." He introduced himself and then turned to Erika and Lydia. "I've heard of you two on Tv! You're the billionaire's children that didn't inherit anything once he had died, right? It's a shame, isn't it?" Lydia didn't want to reply to him but Erika did. "Yes we are, but please don't talk about that too much, okay? Lydia doesn't like thinking about it." Desmond looked at them for a second. "Wait...you are twins, right? But you look nothing alike. How come that?" "Well we're not identical twins so I look like our mother did and Lydia looks like our father." Lydia glared at them. She didn't really like Desmond. "Erika don't tell him our life story. I don't really trust him." Lydia said in a rather rude way. Desmond wasn't offended at all. In fact he was glad to have someone that has trouble trusting too. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be too curious. Sorry, Lydia." He said. Lydia just rolled her eyes and turned away. Desmond noticed Jacky looking at him the whole time so he went up to her.
"Hey, is everything alright? You've been looking at me the whole time." Jacky was a bit embarrassed. "It's just that you look so cool and boyish. I kinda admire your look to be honest." She admitted. Desmond was quite surprised. "Well, thank you, I guess." He didn't know how to react to that compliment. Kate interrupted the others. "Guys it's 8 pm. We need to go to bed. The caretaker won't tell us to, so I will just do that." Desmond was confused. "Why aren't they telling us that?" "Because they don't really care about us. They are really ignorant most of the time" Desmond was shocked by what he was hearing. All those kids here have been neglected? Atleast Kate seemed to care for them. He was impressed that a 7 year old like her was already mature enough for that. "Okay, so where do we sleep?" He asked because he hasn't been shown around yet. "Oh, the girls and boys have separated bedrooms. I think there's still room in Itsuki's and William's room!" Kate turned to William. "Hey Will, can you bring Desmond to your room?" "Sure" he replied. "Okay Itsuki and Desmond, we are gonna go to our room now." They brought him to a large bedroom that was for the boys. "Wow, this room is really big." Desmond said. "Well it needs to be big to have enough room for all the boys here. There haven't been much boys to be honest. At the moment it's only you, me and William." Itsuki said. Desmond was surprised that there were so few boys here but he didn't mind being with only those two. He unpacked his suitcase and put on his pyjamas and layed down on his bed. It was right next to Itsuki's bed. Desmond had trouble sleeping and Itsuki noticed. "Hey, are you okay?" Itsuki asked him. "Yeah, it's just that I've never been anywhere else than my old home, even though it was bad." Itsuki felt bad for him. "Hey we can chat a little if you want. Maybe it'll help you sleep. If not I can also read you a bedtime story. I can read really good." Desmond was happy for that request. "Yes, a bedtime story would be great." Itsuki was happy to hear that and took out a book and started reading. Desmond felt happy and fell asleep quickly. When Itsuki noticed that he was asleep, he layed down and fell asleep too. At night Lydia didn't think about sleeping. She sat at the window and looked outside. She was sad and cried. She only did that at night because she didn't want anyone else to see. Viktoria wasn't sleeping either. She watched Lydia cry. After a while, she stood up and then walked up to her. "Hey Lydia. Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?" She asked. Lydia was shocked and tried to hide her tears. "Hey, it's okay to cry. I won't tell anyone. I promise." Viktoria said and hugged her. Lydia was shocked about the hug too but hugged her back and cried into her arms. They were both quiet and Viktoria let Lydia cry into her arms.

The next months they always spend together. They were happy and Desmond found trust to all of them.

But that all lasted until one special day....
