The next morning arrived. Erika got up first. She was first because her school started 6 am. William would always be late if Erika didn't wake him imidiantly. They were at a loss of what to do with Maria. After all a living cupid could be disturbing to some.

"Maria, you need to watch us right? How are you gonna do that while we're still in class?" William asked confused. "Well, good thing Tar gave me the ability to turn invisible." Maria replied and almost instantly disappeared, being invisible like she said. "This is awesome!" Erika explained. "That makes the hiding part way easier."

They arrived in class. Erika imidiantly sat down next to Gabriel, who was wearing a long sleeved hoodie though it was just August. It was so hot that the lessons were shortened and here he sits wearing a hoodie. "Hey Gabriel, are you sick? That hoodie doesn't fit the weather at all."
Gabriel stared at her conflicted. He didn't know what to do. Should he tell a lie or just tell her to go away again. After a few seconds he decided. "Damn it Erika, go away. I don't want to be your friend that's final-"

He suddenly stopped. He had let his guard down and accidentally looked into her eyes. He began to panic and sweat. "It's too late." He thought. "Now I might as well read it." He moved his eyes to the letters in her eyes. They stated she would turn 119. "This is impossible." Gabriel gave her a disturbed look. "How is she able to live longer than an average human? Something's wrong." He looked over to William. His eyes stated he would die with weak 36 years. "Her friend is normal. So why is she.." He was deep in thought until his eyes suddenly crossed letters in the air seemingly belonging to no one. "Already deceased..." He read. Could he now also see ghosts? No not possible. He was very confused and panicking slightly. Erika noticed this.

"You seem worked up. I think you should go in your dorm and rest, you look like you have fever." She suggested. "I don't live in a dorm." He mumbled. "I live with my mom." He admitted. Erika nodded and lead him to the teacher. "Ms. Meyer, Gabriel's not feeling well, could you call his mother?" She asked her teacher politely. "Of course I can, poor boy looks like he has high fever."

After a while his mother arrived and picked him up. She looked like a bitter woman in her fifties. She looked pretty stern. Gabriel couldn't be happier seeing her. All his features softened at her appearance. She took him home. William groaned. "Now protecting him is gonna get way harder with him not in school. I don't want to do this anymore, I have to learn for math to get my grades better instead of babysitting a weird kid."

Erika sighed. "Atleast he's safe at home. Did you see how he reacted to seeing his mother? There's no way she's a bad mom. She looks very tired though. Probably going through alot. Poor woman." Erika remarked.

Mai leaned over. "Hey Eri, what's up? Why do you suddenly seem so obsessed with that Gabriel guy? Oh my god, is he your crush? That's so romantic!" Mai whispered. "No no, he's definitely not my type. It's complicated, we can talk after class." Erika suggested to which Mai agreed.

After class Erika got together with Mai and started explaining. "What? [Redacted]'s given you two a mission? Why has it only told you? And why of all people William? He has NOTHING to do with us rulers." Mai exclaimed shocked. Since Mai met Gudrun she's been way more happy and talkative, Erika observed. She didn't mind it. Her best friend was happy and that was all that mattered.

"Apparently Williams close to a so called Feeder. Well I don't know what that is but whatever it is, [Redacted] must love it. It started being very clingy to William it was hilarious." Erika teased and chuckled. "Haha very funny. Now can we go back to the theme?" William did not at all find it funny. In fact he still had his blood run cold at the memory of it's breath on his neck.

"Yeah yeah, whatever you say." Erika said and turned back to Mai. "Also, we uhm somewhat got Maria here." Mai was imidiantly overjoyed. She was one of the very few people who saw her last which made her death hit way harder. "Maria's alive? That's wonderful!" Mai exclaimed full of happiness. "Not alive. Existential. She's a puppet of [Redacted]." Erika muttered sadly. "But hey she's here, that's all that matters." She said and in that moment Maria stopped being invisible and appeared in front of them. "Hey Mai. I'm a cupid now!" Maria admitted sadly. They hugged each other way too happy to be in each other's arms again.

"Will you join us on our mission, Mai?" Erika asked to which Mai quickly nodded. "Of course! I'd love to help."

With that they started making plans on how to protect Gabriel.
