Chapter 14 (2): Desmond's secret thoughts

Since I got myself a small house from all the price money I got from winning science competitions, I've been planning on doing an experiment. Something great, something that will help me and my revengeful plan.

That's when I found her. A pathetic little girl no one would miss. If she isn't missed, no one will ever hinder my experiment. I gave her a new name, cut her hair, dyed some of her strands and gave her new clothing. She was barely recognizable now. She had what scientists called a born mutation: animal traits that people are born with. Other than our mutations, she had them since she existed. Pretty interesting. Kidnapping her was pretty easy. I figured that her mind had traits of her moth mutation as well and of course I was correct. She reacts to light like a pathetic moth, imidiantly searching for the source and staying close to it like in trance.

I brought her into the house's basement where I prepared a room for her. She was afraid, I could feel that. As apathetic as I am, the girls feeling were obvious. She was weak.
It was noticable how she imidiantly just surrendered. No fight, no escaping, nothing. How broken does a person have to be to just accept their new isolated and brutal life? It was perfect for me. She is so very perfect.

I tasked some people from my group to take care of her during the day.
Jacob recently kind of joined my group. He was pretty clingy to me, but he's the only person I don't mind so I don't care about that. I mean he is very beautiful. Beautiful hair, beautiful eyes, loyal personality, hah I could embrace him whenever I look at him, but that's not important right now. Anyway Jacob became somewhat a spy for us because he doesn't want to fight, which is valid. He needs protection as far as I know.

He took care of her most if the time, Rachel also spent alot of time with her as well. Lydia was only ready to do the experiments on her alongside me of course. She's my partner in crime after all. What a talented young woman with a great future.

I will rot her soul...

Jette's mood is mostly neutral, though Jacob and Rachel sometimes even manage to make her happy. Good. I want to test her power with all kinds of her emotions, happy one's included.

She's one of those powerful children who develope their power before their 14th birthday. An abnormality, just like us. I wanna find out why that happens. After all I wanna know everything about the powers to eventually be the most powerful with or without my army, who knows. They serve as good servants. I need to know everything. The weaknesses, the strengths...

And lastly I'll defeat [Redacted] and be the most powerful being of all time.

Jette's power is sadly a pretty weak one, only functioning as a human flashlight. Weak...
But I will work with that I guess. Don't have any other choices anyway, I can't kidnap another child as perfect as her.

I think she sees me as more than just her kidnapper. Since I started teaching her things in hopes she will one day join my powerful army, she started being awfully clingy to me and Jacob. He doesn't seem to mind it do I pretend like I don't either. After all she was quite sweet looking. Sometimes when she couldn't sleep she tried to convince us to stay with her. It feels like we're married and she's the child. But why would that ever be. I'm not gay and don't plan on marry someone. Well at least not for geniune intentions.

She started becoming happier when I treated her like a father, how interesting. I don't know if this is some kind of Stockholm syndrome she's developed or just admiration.

I'm gonna keep that up, she's interesting.

Like an an example last monday, I was teaching her basic chemistry and she was very interested, all happy. It's strange seeing a person act like that around me. Oh, how unfortunate she is to be the pawn in my plan. I won't need her soon probably. I'm ready to let her fall at any moment and she doesn't know. She thinks I platonically like her and she likes me too.

How interesting... How pleasing...

Sadly Jacob and Rachel seemed to have gotten fond of them. They would always be upset if I refer to her as a sacrifice. How stupid. Having pity like that with them makes then weak. Although somehow I can understand, her innocent eyes get to a weak person's heart easily. A gift children have coming with them.

I wonder what my researches will result in...
