Reader's PoV:
"That won't be necessary, thank you Callum," my heart is in my throat at hearing her voice, I slowly turn around towards the office door, and there standing in the doorway was Farah Dowling, my god she was even more beautiful than I remember, it's been ten years since we last saw each other, and she doesn't look like she has aged a day.
Farah took my breath away, she always had the ability to take my breath away, Farah was wearing a black dress with a very low v neck, long sleeves, that stops just above her knees, I get the feeling that she wore this dress for me, I could be wrong, however I don't think so, I had also kind of chosen my own outfit for her, not that I would omit to it of course.
Callum cleared his throat from behind me, making me finally break eye contact with Farah, that's when I realise that neither one of us had said a word, we had just gotten lost in one another's eyes, turning my head away slightly, feeling embarrassed that I had allow myself to get lost in her eyes, I had to remind myself that Farah Dowling broke my heart, and Emily Prentiss put my heart back together.
"Headmistress Dowling, it's nice to see you again," I said finally taking a step forward.
"Why so formal?" Farah asks straightening her back.
"Am I not here in a professional capacity?" I reply a little too harsher than I had intended, if what I had said affected her in anyway, she wasn't letting it show.
"Yes, you are, sure we go inside?" Farah asked stepping aside, trying my best to hold my nerve as I walk forward, up the three steps and pass Farah, I caught a whiff of Farah's perfume as I walk past, it is intoxicating.
The moment I walked into the office, the first person I laid eyes on was Queen Luna sitting behind Farah's desk, next I notice Ben and Saul standing on opposite side of the desk, Ben gives me a warm smile, at least someone was glad to see me, I glance in Saul's direction, he had a stern look on his face, his jaw was so tight that if he doesn't loosen up a little he might just end up breaking his jaw, he really doesn't look happy at seeing me again, the feeling is mutual.
"Let me be the first to welcome you back to Alfea, special agent y/n," Queen Luna said to me, face unchanged, as she motioned for me to take a seat in one of the chairs in front of the desk, I sit in the chair to the right of the desk, Farah took the chair on the left, I could feel our magic trying to reconnect with one another, I know Farah could feel it as well.
"Thank you, Queen Luna, it's nice to be back," I reply as I place my shoulder bag with my laptop and files on the floor next to my chair.
"I would like to start off by saying, congratulations on having a great career with the FBI, your done well for yourself," Queen Luna tells me, I was a little speechless to say the least, had she been keeping taps on me? "I like to keep check on fairies that live in the first world, especially those in position of influence," she added when she saw the confuse look on my face.
I bite the inside of my cheek, what did she mean position of influence? "Queen Luna, I might be a part of the best team in the FBI, however I would hardly say I was in a position of influence," I try to explain, surely if she had been following my career, she would be very aware of that fact, I use my FBI training to read Queen Luna's body language, "if you really have been keeping track on me and my career, then you must be aware, that I know your worried, very worried, if I had to guess it has something to do with the burn one I killed back in the first world?" I knew I was stepping over a very thin line, as no one would ever dare talk to Queen Luna the way I just have.
"I really underestimated you, your right of course, however why don't you start by explaining to me, why you didn't stay with the burn ones body last night?" Queen Luna asked me, oh so its that game we are playing.
"We were in the middle of a manhunt, of a serial killer, if I hadn't returned, there would of been questions, questions I wouldn't of be able to answer," I tell her, I could see by her facial expressions, she wanted more information, from the corner of my eyes, I notice Farah shuffle a little in her seat, I try to keep my focus on the reason why I am actually here, "You should know that Agent Emily Prentiss is the only member of my team, who knows the truth about me and our world," I felt a tight feeling in my stomach at mentioning Emily in-front of Farah, I hadn't wanted to say anything about Emily knowing the truth, only I had just realise that there might not be anyway of avoiding telling them, not giving them a chance to question me about my decision for telling Emily, I carry on telling my story, "we had tracked the killer to this warehouse district, my team along with local law-enforcement, we broken up in to smaller teams, myself and agent Prentiss were searching one of the warehouse's ,,, when the burn one attacked us, I somehow manage to pull enough of my magic to defeat the burn one, as well as open up a portal back to Alfea," I explain to them, feeling for my engagement ring, as if asking it to give me the strength to keep going.
"did you bring agent Prentiss into our world? Because if you did that goes against our laws, you have already broken the law by telling a human about our world," Saul said speaking for the first time.
"I know our laws, and to answer your question no I did not bring Emily into our world, she stay behind to help cover for me, and as for telling Emily the truth about me, it more of a rule then an actual law, because if you actually took time to learn our history, you would know, that in the past we have indeed, request assistance from the first world law-enforcement," Saul wasn't exactly into history when we were in school together, he was a soldier who took orders without question, I had hope that would of changed after what happened with Rosalind, guess not, I once again notice how his jaw tighten as he looked towards Farah.
Saul had never liked me, like most fairies and specialists he thought I should just know my place and not want to better myself, however Saul had other reasons to hate me, he is in love with Farah, he hated me even more when he learned of our relationship, he resentment of me only grew over the years, especially after Rosalind supported our relationship, I couldn't help wondering if they were together, maybe that's the reason for him being hostel towards me, out of fear of losing Farah to me, I knew I could most likely win Farah back if I wanted, I didn't want Farah back, because I was with Emily now.
"Saul that's enough," Farah warmed him, oh I remember that tone very well, she wasn't happy, "may I remind you, you are only here as a courtesy," there is definitely tension between them, maybe they had been lovers at some point after Farah called off our engagement, the room was silent for a moment, until Farah continue speaking, "Besides, am sure y/n would have had her reasons for telling agent Prentiss," Farah said, at that point I felt her eyes on me.
"Yes, I did, however that's not the reason why we are all here, the reason we are here, is because of the attack by a burned one in the first world, because as you Queen Luna are most likely aware, and as much as I had been hoping that this burn one attack was a once off, we both know it wasn't," I said picking up my bag from the floor at the same time, Farah, Saul and Ben all said "What?" in unison.
